kueller
Matt uses a guitar that is half a step down to record, he starts on the 9th fret on the first guitar note of the song (would be 8th fret on standard tuning). You can see it on the Making of 2nd Law video. Also, I am in the process of tabbing animals, do you mean this clean solo part? The tab below is for Standard Tuning, with the low E dropped to Eb (necessary to play the riff at the end of the song). E |----------------------------------------------------------| B |----------------------------------------------------------| G |------------11-15-13-11-13-11-10h11p10---10---------------| D |----------13---------------------------13--13-11--11------| A |--------13--------------------------------------14--14-13-| Eb|---12-15--------------------------------------------------| E |-------------------------------------------------------------| B |------------12-16-14-12-14-12-11h12p11---11------------------| G |----------13---------------------------13--13-11-13-11-10----| D |--------13------------------------------------------------13-| A |---11-14-----------------------------------------------------| Eb|-------------------------------------------------------------| This sounds good, thanks. Minimal
This sounds good, thanks. Feel free to refine it and post it here, I want to know what I did wrong Btw has anyone been able to tab unsustainable yet? Also, in case anyone gives a damn, I'm almost done with the Animals tab, after nearly 30 hours of listening to the same parts over over again as well as scrutinizing Matt's hands in every live show and in the making of 2nd law DVD. Not easy I must say. Edited October 2, 2012 by Minimal

Dillyracer
So, I can only find tabs for Liquid State that are drop D and then whammy set to one octave down, but doesn't matt play it on his 7-string?
james90
Not really asking for a tab, but I'm trying to figure out if these are the correct chords for the chorus of muse's version of sign o the times E--11 B--9 G--8 D--10 A C E--8 B--9 G--10 D--10 A C E--10 B--8 G--10 D--10 A C E B--11 G--10 D--8 A C any thoughts? I'm not sure about the 3rd one mainly.

eivdjo
Has anyone tabbed what Matt plays live in Madness? (everything but the solo) I'm also interested in this. He's actually going up the fretboard where as the chords normally would be played going downward. I've tried searching the web for alternative ways to play G, F and Bb but to no luck, but the best video to watch could maybe be the one at jools. xtinction
Hi guys I found a tab on UG.com for Micro Cuts, i think it is the only accurate one as the other tab for Micro Cuts on there has the the first part of the chorus tabbed as D-555555554444444455555555 A-555555550000000055555555 D-555555550000000055555555 this seems too simple, as does the rest of the chorus in general on that particular tab, the accurate tab ive found shows this for the first part e-66666666--------------66666666 B-88888888--------------88888888 G-77777777--------------77777777 D-555555550000000055555555 A-555555550000000055555555 D-555555554444444455555555 however, for a later part in the chorus, the same tab also shows this, which seems impossible to frett due to the apparent need for 5 available fingers to frett, not 4: e-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 B-9---9---9---9---9---9---9---9 G-12-12-12-12-12-12-12-12 D-12-12-12-12-12-12-12-12 A-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 I don't know if it's just me, but I find it impossible to frett this any ideas? Dominic.
I do 5-5-5-7 and 0-0-4-7 for the first two chords, will get baack to you on the fingering on the others later (hurr) since I don't have a guitar near me at the moment
xtinction
could anyone give me tabs for the part in this video Matt plays? (from around 4:02 til 4:30) havent been able to find them on UG :/

It's just a simple G minor chord. Move the 9 to 11. e-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 B-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11 G-12-12-12-12-12-12-12-12 D-12-12-12-12-12-12-12-12 A-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-
xtinction
Aha, thanks a lot, i did suspect it was a mistake, the 9 thats actually an 11, but wasnt entirely sure, thanks for clearing it up for me

(from around 4:02 til 4:30) havent been able to find them on UG :/ This is not accurate at all, you'll hear it if you play along. xtinction
cheers for that, it's not perfect but it sounds good enough and i think there is a tab on UG for the live version of madness, though i havent looked at in a while so im not sure how accurate it is
FingerFud
The tab book made a mistake. It's just a simple G minor chord. Move the 9 to 11. e-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 B-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11 G-12-12-12-12-12-12-12-12 D-12-12-12-12-12-12-12-12 A-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 So it was just that tiny tiny mistake that put me off from learning the song for a long time? Damn...
xtinction
Aha, i skipped learning the chorus and learned the intro/verse riff, bridge and solo, the mistake with that chord couldnt put me off learning such a cool song, it is by far one of the most fun Muse songs to play on guitar
arj225
Does anyone have tab for the space dementia outro from Reading 2011? Would be nice to know as I've just finished learning the entire piano song, and switching to guitar for the outro would be good fun. xtinction
I'm currently doing a guitar cover of Space Dementia (the whole song, not just the outro) unusual idea i know, and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas fr the verse, as just strumming the chords doesnt seem good enough, is there perhaps a tab that can correctly "translate" the feel of the way it's played on piano to guitar?
