Since November 2009 til today I've seen Muse 10 times  and in different countries.

Last gig made me swear I'll never travel to see them again cos each time I was hoping 'now I won't get disappointed..'

EDIT: For the record, I thought the Nov 2009 gig was the best out of the ones I saw on this tour (including Wembley) but it still doesn't come near most of their gigs that I've been to in 06-07...

Too much of a good thing ;)

imo it's a good thing that turned into an ok thing that turnd into a repeatitive bore... ;)

they're still good performers, but it's all so mechanic it's like going to a west end show or cirque du soleil.. if i wanted that i'd go to vegas or broadway or whatever and watch one of those. when u go to a rock gig u expect surprises. rock is meant to have sort of 'improvisations'.. yeah, it's not jazz lol but still, on some level, it's meant to surprise you. after u watch literally exactly the same gig 3 times in a row it just feels like there's a scriptwriter and a director stage side telling them how to move and whatnot. i mean, even the "dance" moves are the same lol

Don't go and see the band loads of times on the same tour then :p

To be honest though if something different happened at every gig, people would complain just as much because they missed that thing or this thing etc.

And if you go to that many gigs by the same band within that short of a period on the same tour, you're bound to get the same thing because it's setup that way.

As for west end shows etc, Green Day have a Broadway musical

but that's exactly the point.. I saw Kasabian 5 times this year, one after the other, and they didn't bore me at all hehe and there were unexpected surprises.

They didn't have the big stage setup shit and all that but they don't need it.. no one needs it, heck, Muse would be better without all the gadgets imo.. Oxegen was easily one of Muse's best gigs of the year and that was festival setup (but then they did only play 14 songs that gig.. Kasabian played same amount of songs and they were on before Muse lol)

Point is, Kasabian played a song for my friend and I just cos we came from Israel. It was the day of the gig that they decided to do it and it was a song they haven't played in over a year and it could have easily been a different rare song (that they haven't played for even longer), Muse choose to play the same songs in rotation. The chance they'll pull a random rarity for one gig (and I don't mean CE, RBS or Bliss, these are in the rotation), adding the fact they have plenty more to choose from (5 albums, there's no justification to play the same 25+ songs in rotation when there's that much to choose from) is next to zero.

It looks like they're so scared of screwing up they'd rather play it safe.. well, safe is boring. (always use protection though!!!!! [/ot])

I'll be a very happy muser if they come to Brazil to play that standart setlist :p

Of course I would like some rarities but If they come here I don't think I'll not enjoy the gig because of the setlist .. but this is just me and I understand your point Liron but I think see 10 gigs in the same tour it's too much even if the band is your favorite band :)

Oh I agree.. thing is, when they don't come to your country (ever ever) and you fly out to see them you often think 'I won't fly all this way for just one show'. So yeah, in the US I went to 5 shows that fitted in with the states I wanted to visit (I have 3-4 days to travel in each stop as well :) ).. last one was for free even but that's another thing

and when I was in the UK I wasn't planning to see them at all actually but ended up going to Oxegen to see Kasabian for the first time (and to be with friends) and I felt a bit silly to miss out on Wembley seeing as I was already in the UK and had already realised I probably won't fly out especially for them again. Plus, I think we all accepted surprises at Wembley lol I admit I was surprised by RBS but I then as soon as that one ended I was ready to leave

Oh I understand.. I was thinking that you traveled 10 times just to see them... if I was in your place I probably do the same thing or worst since I'm too obsessed to see them live  (I never saw)

I tried go to Wembley, but it ended to expensive for me :(

I can imagine :( they have been to Brazil before though, right? I have no doubt they'll go again next year, we already know they're planning South America.

I definitely agree with Kasabian winning best act in the world today over Muse. Their performances are much initimate than Muse's and they put so much more energy into their shows.

Don't get me wrong, Muse's second show at Wembley was amazing and easily one of the best gigs I've been at, but in general Kasabian are better at the moment.

I'm not sure about Green Day winning best live act, although I've not seen them live.

They came in 2008 but I didn't know them that time, a friend introduce me to their music just in the beggining of 2009 :supersad: and I hope you're right

There are some rumours that they'll come with U2, I hope they'll do some solo gigs too..because as a supporting band they'll play only for 40 minutes :noey:

I doubt they'll suppot U2 there, I'm pretty sure they'll come for solo gigs.. btw funnily enough there were or are also rumours about Kasabian supporting U2's South American dates.. but I doubt that too.

If something different happened at every gig, it would be more incentive to go to more shows. :chuckle: It's almost like paying for the same thing twice, or many times otherwise. Of course, you may be willing to pay for it twice or more, but it does get boring eventually. :)

yeah I went to Sheffield as My first Muse Gig which was awesome and then to first night at Wembley..

I Thought at Wembley they would bring out more classics like Bliss and Citizen Erased and make sure they place MK Ultra but saved them for the second night.. which means first night the only surprises were NSC and IBTY which were good but a lot of the rest of the set was predictable...

Don't get me wrong I loved every minute of the gigs but they do seem kinda set in there ways when it comes to set lists on this tour..

And after Muse kinda had the stadium gig scene locked down take that have announced like a massive stadium tour... Makes muse's stadium tour look kinda small.. but was still awesome
