Fantastic night!

Only disappointment is that I gave up being close to the stage because within the first 30 seconds of uprising I realised that as a weak 5ft4 girl I might die in my pursuit of matt bellamy lol. But still got far closer than ever before. LOVED that they played bliss. Loved the alien lol. And the musical perfection goes without saying :D

Hah, that's the same reason I rarely attempt standing at gigs!

I must say that I truly had one of the most amazing nights of my life at the gig on Saturday. This was my first Muse gig and it was years and years overdue. I felt truly blessed to hear some of my personal favourites: Bliss, MoP, Undiclosed Desires, Citizen Erased, KoC, Guiding Light, MK ultra, Exogensis 1.. ok haha if I carry on I think I would pretty much mention them all. Yes there are others I'd have loved to hear but truthfully there aren't many songs I wouldn't have wanted to hear on my first Muse gig!

Muse are one of those rare bands for me, with very little 'skipable' material, if any at all. Perhaps that's why they are officially my favourite band. The albums have never once dissapointed me, each unique and innovative. Some bands albums are full of track after track of repetitive sounding songs. One thing with Muse is that you always get Variety, not to mention thoughtful lyrics which is always an important for me.

We were on the very top level and had a fantastic time dancing (carefully mind you as it was pretty steep) and singing and rocking away. Yes I was one of those prepared geeks that took binoculars though I only looked through them once or twice to see what was going on in the end. Visually it was a treat, especially with the spaceship, I was hoping for something like that ;) The sound was good for the most part where I was, occasionally matt's voice was a little lost, but not often and if you know the songs well enough it doesn't matter as much. Loved the long intros and outros :D I've seen a lot of band's live and Muse lived up to their title of best live act in my eyes. So many bands and artists songs don't sound nearly as good live. Muse's sound better and 10 times more epic!

So yeah.. I enjoyed it.. ;) (understatement of the year)

I was the only one (from what i could hear) in my little area singing RBS. I mean wtf, how can nobody not love that song!?

Next to where we were, a group of middle-aged (well, I'm being charitable, old) people started asking themselves what this song was and whether it was a new one, during the first few bars of RBS. I was too caught up in the amazingness of hearing it live again that I couldn't be bothered telling 'em.

I would imagine such people would have been much better off going to the Friday night.

that's one hell of a setlist to get. Lucky you.

Was Matt's Take a Bow cheat sheet handwritten?

Unfortunately, it's not my setlist, I just saw a lucky muser and asked for a picture haha.

And, no, it was printed and everything, i'll try and get a picture up pretty soon, after i've stolen it from my friend!

if you didnt know why he'd need that, that would look fucking weird.

  It did take me a while to work out it was from TaB. It doesn't look like a regular 'to do' list haha

It's like a 'to sing' list I guess. :p

No - I just heard it as peace and joy. Or just sang it as peace and joy, rather.

Hmm. It's def changed. I can't be the only one who's noticed it. Maybe because choice and joy are quite similar sounding words it's not as noticeable as it is in MOTP.

I don't think he changed it, I noticed that he pronounces joy very strangely and almost indecipherable, "gimme your peace and your choy" etc

It was more noticeable at Casino de Paris where the vocals were much clearer.

Hmmmm... maybe. Or like Hammertym3 suggested, maybe its the pronounciation.

The chat around us during RBS was mental...people seemed to take it as a break of sorts...although the same people did also go wild for a bit of megaphone...lol.

Still reflecting and deciding on my highlight. Tied between Bliss and the fact that we got MK, after having said to my mate "they won't play MK Ultra then if they've just played it on the PA." also of course CE, and MotP is always a huge highlight personally...god I can't decide, it was all just so frigging epic!!

Sorry not gone though the whole thread since Saturday, but was anyone else disappointed with the lack of a golden circle?

I queued up with a friend from about 2:30 and when we got it we would have easily gotten into the GC. We chose to stand a bit further back towards the sound desk but ended up moving before Biffy came on as it was getting far too crammed. I overheard many people saying how amazed they were to get close to the stage coming in so late. I also know someone who showed up at 8pm and forced his way down to about 7 or 8 rows from the barrier.

This to me is an insult to people who showed up early to get a decent spot. I mean I ended up not seeing much of it because there were so many people crammed around me. If there was a GC, I could have stood a bit closer to the back and got a decent view with my friend.

Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed myself, but would have been better if I was able to see something besides the odd sighting off Matt or Chris while someone moved for a second.

+ 43264936537657365837825

I got there about 1.30ish and ended up moving back as I got stuck between a rowdy bunch of men who weren't just jumping up and down but doing the side-to-side thing and kept getting pushed forwards and backwards, so couldn't even jump up and then got really hot and tired, so started to panic that I won't be able to breathe and moved back. And then for the rest of the night when I tried to re-emerge into the crowd I couldn't and at times couldn't even see the bloody screen as it was the same height as the stage and only saw them like a couple of times a song. But still an amazing amazing show, and the security were brilliant - they really looked after everyone.

But still enjoyed myself, but its just a bit saddening when watching the videos - you see things for the first time and really get to see them play when know you were there. :(

My summary of events...

Wembley, 9/10/10

• Queued at M/N all alone as my friends had other gates. Got there at 4:30am and actually slept through a lot of the day against the wall. Apparently there are pictures of this, you fuckers. I mean you, Catherine, Pip, whoever it was… I’ll get revenge even if I have to fly to gig in Australia and England (gladly would anyways XD)!

• Was given a purple wig by Liron, so I rocked green skinnies, leopard print shirt, purple wig, bright makeup, blue hat, and flashy blue Kanye shades all day. Oh yeah.

• The run to the barrier was absolutely hell. Went into M when N was closer to the stairs. Had a shoe ripped off so I had to grab it and run with only one shoe on all the way there. Grabbed a spot on the barrier, but then got pushed out of it by a stupid mistake and was forced to grab a spot on the second row behind Catherine and some French girls.

• The Big Pink would be a lot better if they turned down their bass. Still, it was cool that during Dominoes I waved my arm at the lead singer and he did it back. Win!

• After my success with the Big Pink, I did the same to Lily Allen and she waved and smiled at me. She’s so adorable! J

• As soon as Muse came on, I was absolutely crushed at all sides. Spent a lot of the gig contorted at weird angles, and definitely couldn’t turn around to see MK Jam and such. For Exo, I had to bend over backwards to take pictures!

• Such a cheese setlist with NSC, IBTY, Guiding Light, Soldier’s Poem, etc. Was pissed about MOTP being dropped for NSC, but ah well. Guess it was nice to hear NSC and IBTY live once, even though I heard all of the above in the soundcheck the day before. Interesting that they really did play everything they soundchecked for the most part, except for Unintended I believe.

• Was impossible for me to inflate my alien while being crushed. I learned my lesson the next day and preinflated it, then stuck it in front of the barrier underneath some platforms until it was time to use it.

• Bought waaaay too much merch. But that’s ok, it was worth it!

• The best way to describe this gig would be the lyrics to Guiding Light. Sad but true. But, I have to say, if I was recorded for any one song either night, I’d want it to be Guiding Light where I waved around my round flashy yellow light and mocked it epically.

Wembley, 9/11/10

• Started queuing at M/N a bit past 5am with Eri. Met some awesome Brits from Newcastle in our queue who had camped overnight. Wasn’t able to sleep in the queue like I had the day before. Kevin almost fucked me over when he ran off to the bathroom with my stuff, but he came back to give it to me in time for the rush through the turnstiles to the barrier.

• Eri and I made it to the barrier at the corner on Matt’s side, the best view in the whole stadium. From there we could look right to see MK Jam, Take A Bow, and Undisclosed Desires, or look left to see Matt elsewhere. Matt was wearing a silver suit and Dom the silver wetsuit thing.

• From the beginning, it was pretty epic. Got crushed a bit starting with Biffy Clyro, but the barrier provided cushion and was way better than being contorted in the crowd the night before. When the set went MK Ultra ‡ Map of the Probematique ‡ Bliss I almost cried. So epic compared to Neutron Star Collision and I Belong to You kind of cheese of the night before. And then with Citizen Erased, I was just like, “This is the best setlist they’ve done all summer! Woo!” Ruled By Secrecy was also absolutely gorgeous.

• I had fun mocking Guiding Light with my little light-up beacon. The French and Italian people surrounding us seemed to love Guiding Light though for real. Weird.

• Dom said he was happy to see “some of us” again, lol. Joking of course. Matt said thanks to all of us who traveled to the gig and that we were the real fans. He meant it as a compliment to those who were able to make it, not as an insult to those who couldn’t. Calm down people.

• Matt did some random crazy falsetto during a song. I can’t remember which, Help me! Maybe TIRO?

• Security guys were super awesome. Gave us chocolate when we were hungry. Gave me a guitar pick/plectrum (which I gave to Eri) and helped me get a setlist. They also gave us those little security booklets, which are cool.

• During Exo, Chris saw me and Eri’s inflatable aliens (I looked back and saw some in the crowd, but no one else had them anywhere near the front that I could see except us) and laughed, then look at Matt, lol.

• At the end, Matt came out to the middle platform and looked straight at me and Eri (our aliens still out, we rocked out to both the encored with them all the way through Knights of Cydonia haha) and bowed and waved his hand at us. Absolutely made my life. It was legit, he really did bow to US! I mean, otherwise, he probably would have faced forward and bowed, yeah? Lol. I need a video of this!

Woke up the next day with my left ankle hurting quite a bit. Maybe I sprained it? Compared to some of the crying girls I saw pulled out, this is nothing.

It was great meeting everyone! Sorry to those I didn't get to see. :( Should have some awesome vids (my CE vid is particularly gorgeous) and pics up ASAP. Cheers and see you guys next time!

Anyone who wanted a picture of the setlist:

4984704650_4e659c0fa5.jpg

The picture is blurry because it was on my phone, and i asked someone i don't know for a picture, so i couldn't take too much of her time getting the right settings. So, i can't really make out the stage directions :(

On this note, my friend managed to get what she thought was a setlist from on the rising 'ufo' stage but when she opened it, it said:

Corrupt...

Burn...

Death...

Beg...

Burn...

I don't understand why Matt would need this, surely he knows the words by now??

But nonetheless, that's a pretty amazing souvenir i my opinion, and when i get round to seeing her next, i'll take a picture of it :)

Ps. I didn't want to fill up the page with the picture, so i tried to use one of those 'show spoiler on...' things, but i don't know how. Obviously, this is off topic, but i've searched for answers, and found none.:$

Lol, that's me. I let people take setlist photos when I manage to get them.

Saturday September 11th 2010. What a truly spectacular evening. Apart from a few sound issues involving a very large echo off the back wall which was shown the door very early on, the whole thing was completely amazing. But tbh, this post is more about a revelation than anything else.

The gig itself was my 10th time of seeing them in 6 years. I have been to Dublin and Edingburgh, travelling from Bournemouth, its sometimes expensive and a very long trip, and I have had my share of disappointment. Sometimes them only playing a majority of older songs and others completely ruled by the newer content. However, my normal rule of thumb is that if they play one or two songs in my own personal top 5 (which changes from album to album and sometimes week to week) I am a happy bunny.

Something that occured to me on Saturday night was the total difference in ages and expectation. There are the newer "Twilight" fan base, probaby more of the younger generation, the older people who are fairly new (and I include myself in this as my addiction started at Shepherds Bush after my daughter won tickets) but have also bought the entire back catalogue and then the total Musers who have followed them since the beginning (those of which I am entirely jealous but in awe of for finding them when they did :p) So when some from all of these complain about the setlist I want to ask them..... ok... so in order to please everyone what would you play???? But something that actually came to mind yesterday as I was sitting on my sofa attempting to recover any semblance of feeling to my legs (I am 43 now and it takes longer for me to recover::rolleyes:) I suddenly realised, hang on........ surely its not always about the setlist........ surely its about going to see the best live band do their thing and to join with fellow music lovers of all generations to come together and enjoy the experience and camerardery that that brings as well as the music..... I think somewhere along the line some of these people have lost the message which is that love conquers all and together with can do anything ....its not about bitching because they didn't play certain songs..... the message of the new MTV / MK Ultra coalition is about human trafficking and slavery.... surely this is the message we need to be talking about and not the fact that the lack of Newborn or B & H didn't make the setlist.

All I know is that Saturday was always gonna be special because it was always billed as the last UK tour date. It lived up to and surpassed everything I have ever seen them do before (including both Wembley Stadium gigs before). It truly was the best Muse gig I have ever been to. Thank you guys.

And my message to them???? Guys.... you are and always will be the best. Thanks for coming into my life.

To those of you who doubted..... perhaps you should have kept the faith.

Peace and love to you all

Thank you for saying what I wanted to say...Yes it's all about the music and the message....It's all about their music living in my soul and playing in my heart over and over again and I thank them for that because that's a great gift... But as I said in an other post we are humans and unfortunately we're never happy....

I was lucky to be there and flying with the notes and the voice of Muse was EPIC.

Thank you

Manuela

Awww! :chuckle: I bet it's very easy to forget words when you're stuck on a platform rising above 70,000 people. Cool souvenir. :D

Alot of people commented that he sang again "Since I lost you"...

Yeah, he has done it quite a few times now.... did any of you go on the 10th? He changed the lyrics to IBTY too.
