TemplarNights
I first bought Muse's Showbiz back when I was at uni so around 97. Never heard of them but liked what I heard. Then I heard Plug In Baby and that was it - solid fan ever since.

alyssa_bellamy
The first song I heard by them was Time Is Running Out. They kept playing it on the radio and I LOVED it!!
blithespirit
The first Muse song I heard was Unintended. Loved it but didn't follow up and look for other music by them. Two years later I saw them play Newborn at Glastonbury and I was in awe. I now own all their albums and got the videos. Muse rock.
Josefine
I want to say Hyper Music, and I'm pretty sure it is. The first time I heard it was I didn't really care much for it, but after 2nd and 3rd time it became one of my favorite songs, and influenced me to check out more of Muse's works. So now Hyper Music is my nostologic Muse song for me. It makes me appreciate Hyper Chondriac Music even more. Sunburn, 'cause that's the first song on Showbiz. I got the Showbiz cd some weeks after it was released simply because I liked the cover - I hadn't heard a song by Muse before I got home and began listening to it - the rest is history
bellamy'szetagirl
I was definately blown away when I heard Muse for the first time, they are truly talented and their music is so inspirational and different in a great way. I saw them live with MCR last year and I fell in love with them and their music all over again, can't wait to see them again!!! {*TERRY*} That sounds familiar I also saw them live with MCR last year too. The first song they played was KoC and that was the first song by them that I had heard. They only played 8 songs but that was all I needed to absolutely love them forever! Actually, I only needed 1 song
Rico0o
The first time I'm heard Muse , it's Map of the problematique on radio , and I like this song at the first second. After , I buy BHAR , and all CD !!
Starlight*Bliss
First Muse song I heard was Muscle Museum way back when, on the radio in some taxi in the early hours of the morning. I thought ''Ooohh that's good'' and the rest is history.

Briggsy
They did a live performance of Hysteria at the Brits (2003 or 2004, I forget.) and that was the first time I heard a song by muse knowing it was muse. It was also fucking epic. I'd heard most of Showbiz and the Origin of Symmetry beforehand, but never knew who did it all.
<O>
Meh i found Muse boring, all their song sounded the same, like plug in baby had a great riff but was too samey. Same with TIRO. Then i borrowed my sister's mate's CD collection of Muse (OoS and Absolution)....When i heard New Born and Bliss it got me hooked to them forever. -Lya-
One of my friends at college was (still is) obsessed with Muse, and every time we did anything or went anywhere she'd play the Absolution album (as it had just been released). I vaguely already knew them as I had Plug in Baby / In Your World on cd, but wasn't so sure on Matts voice..eventually she copied Absolution it for me.. (or course i bought it later! ) and not long after that whilst on hol I bought Showbiz, Origin and Hullabaloo and suddenly realised I knew a lot more of their songs than I thought I did! Sunburn must have been the first song I heard, many, many years before, but obv I never knew who it was
ASoulNotExhumed
My first Muse experience came at my university's planetarium about a year ago. I had never even heard of them (I like to shy away from traditional radio typically, so I had never heard anything of them). However, this planetarium had a cool laser show that played along with BHaR, and my friends and I were bored. The laser show, in retrospect, was fairly lame (Invincible had a laser robot attacking a city Godzilla-style--for reasons I will never know...) but the music had me hooked. There was a great degree of diversity in their music, combining classical training with Eastern, Hispanic, R&B, and electronic influences. From that point I moved in reverse through Muse's discography, and with each album I was sucked deeper into their unique sound. A year later, here I am, wondering what I was doing missing out on this incredible band...had I known what I knew one year ago, I would have been first in line for their show here in Colorado. Instead, I'll have to wait until their next release, but at least I'm excited!
Lacuna
I remember the first time I heard Muse was when I was listening to the radio while taking a shower. It was Starlight. I hated it at first...thinking that it was kind of whiny, but I grew to love Muse. And because of that shower, I am now the obsessed fangirl I am today. TheHT
I was young and saw a music video on TV but didn't know what it was (Time is Running Out) but the chorus was super catchy and was forever stuck in my head. Then, a long while later, I saw an AMV set to Apocalypse Please and was totally intrigued by it. Then, another long while later, I saw the trailer for 28 Weeks Later, was once again totally intrigued by the song only to find out that it's Muse. So I was all "WTF, these dude's totaly kick ass," and started checking out some of their stuff on YouTube. I came across Time is Running Out and was all "OMG I HEARD THIS AND LOVED IT WHEN I WAS A KID!!!!" Then, after listening to more stuff, Bliss became by favourite song and Muse became my favourite band. Fin. *whew*
Josefine
I bought Showbiz a couple of week after it had been released (because I liked the cover, I'd never heard of Muse before ) and started listening to it. Sunburn was the first song I heard due to it's being the first song on Showbiz and I realized I'd never heard anything like that - I was in awe

compulsiveobsession
The first Muse song I heard was Time is Running Out on my boyfriend's MySpace. It was like an orgy in my ears and I've been obsessed ever since. It's very rare to catch me listening to another band, actually.
