Dead Star.

It's not a bad song, actually it's a very good song, But it's not that great.

Somebody will probably try to kill me for saying that. Ah well.

 

I'll vote for Who Knows Who. The vocals in that are absolutely terrible.

Who the hell likes Who Knows Who?

Dead Star is one of their hardest songs(for me at least) and still damn catchy, great lyrics and some of my favorite vocals.

 

It crushes the likes of PIB and New Born totally.

 

I've seen PIB live five times now. It's lost its appeal. Still a great song but massively overplayed. But the casual fans expect to hear it when they see Muse live.

I certainly wouldn't object to Plug in Baby being replaced with Dead Star or another song like that. It was one of the better staples at the show I saw (better than Starlight, TIRO certainly) but it wasn't really a memorable moment of the night to be honest. Newborn, however, was one of the highlights.

New Born live is hard to beat, even if Matt doesn't play the piano intro anymore.

tbh I'm shit at distinguishing subgenres.

 

The point is I find it kind of overrated.

The point is that still, "Riff-oriented, overtly angsty lyrics, ect." can be said about almost every song on OoS. :p

 

What I don't get is why you try to define it as a genre as something negative when you are simply just taking a genre that you seem fitting, and not actually a genre that you find bad.
