dekza Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 If you had to choose the most representative song of Muse, the song that represents Muse´s style the best to show someone who doesn´t know Muse at all, which one song would it be? I personally think its New Born or Hysteria
jackparker Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Yeah, TiRO, Newborn, hysteria, SS, uprising, KoC and nsc
coralucky Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Knights of Cydonia, Stockholm Syndrome, Time Is Running Out, Plug In Baby,Citizen Erased, Hysteria.
AviatorAsphyxiation Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Knights of Cydonia. space-y/awesome music, hard rock riffs, amazing lyrics. s'got everything, really.
Butterflies and Hurricanes Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Dead Star, because it's my personal fave
TomWillett97 Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Hysteria. Everyone has heard hysteria, its in a dozen movies and featured on a few tv shows.... I put it on at school and everyones like, i know this song its mint. They always say muse are shit, then i tell em its muse, next day they come in like, Yeah muse are alright
TomWillett97 Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Butterflies and Hurricanes and Citizen Erased. I looked at your Keeps and then automatically watched uprising at teignmouth:P
Horcrux Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 I looked at your Keeps and then automatically watched uprising at teignmouth:P Ahaa, I was there and when he sang it wrong I thought it was my mistake at first
TrebleRose689 Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 I started a similar thread to this a while ago http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?t=74426 Anyway, as for the "most Muse" question, I think it would be impossible to pick just one song that defines their style... that's why when you introduce someone to Muse you gotta play 'em a bunch of songs at once
jackparker Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Probs citizen erased actually its got rockin riffs great lyrics drum beat thats rly epic bass and piano all the things muse is
olliemuse Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Stop bloody capitalising the full word Muse! I've said it time and time again, it's only fully capitalised in the logo for visual purposes!
Melania13 Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Ahaa, I was there and when he sang it wrong I thought it was my mistake at first the first time i watched it i was like "NOT degrading us?" lyricfail! then I because it was funneh:$ Stop bloody capitalising the full word Muse! I've said it time and time again, it's only fully capitalised in the logo for visual purposes! /"MUSE" nazi i fixed yer post
rainingradioheads Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 NSC. Nah, probably B&H (the single version) and SS. You have to have the arpeggios in there as well as the piano (SS does have a bit of piano, yes, but it's not as...complex as most other Muse songs). Stop bloody capitalising the full word Muse! I've said it time and time again, it's only fully capitalised in the logo for visual purposes! Calm down a bit, seriously. It's not that big of a deal, and it's not like they did it for the entire post.
Tofu Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Actually, this one time I played Knights and SS and Butterflies... and my friend was like, "nah... they're alright, but nothing special." Then I played IBTY and he was like, "THIS IS AWESOME I WANT MORE."
eli_extraordinary Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 i hooked two of my friends with my favorite song ever: butterflies & hurricanes. i think that song is a great combo of the many things muse can do. if not, i think maybe bliss, space dementia, citizen erased, TiRO, SS, hysteria, map of the problematique, KoC of course.
Candy-o Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 My fave song yet is Knights, but the song that captures my non-Muse friends is still Supermassive. It's the beat. Also Sing for Absolution is pretty representative, I'd say.
Calliope. Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Butterflies & Hurricanes represents the sound of Muse, but to people whi dont recognise Muse, this song probably wont be a good first representation of Muse, sometthing like KoC, Hysteria or TiRO would work better.
arsenal0119 Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 I think some B sides are. Who else but muse could write Eternally Missed, The Groove, or PINK EGO BOX!
HenryW7 Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Butterflies and Hurricanes (additional guitar remix) by a long way. It has everything: 1. A quiet first verse. 2. A strong bass line and bass fill 3. A guitar solo 4. Well the piano speaks for itself.... 5. RIFFS 6. Orchestral backing 7. and it has the highest ever falsetto note from glasto '04 where usually Bellamy hits the top A at the end which is higher than the showbiz G sharp. B&H is everything muse
