Protonix
Does anybody happen to own one? I tried one out a while ago 'cause I heard some people that it was the MKUltra intro effect. But after I tried it, it just doesn't fit......
MuseJosh
Yeah i have one There pretty tempremental and dont really 'hold' their settings, if you turn the mix dial up to just over half way you should get a pretty decent tone, also add delay. Protonix
Yeah I got that tone. Sounded pretty close. But is it actually a pitch shifter/distorsion pedal? 'Cause I tried a setting and it sounded like a distorted 8bit tune. Pretty odd, If you know what I mean. Although, it's fun and would fit in a solo. But imo, an odd pedal..... MuseJosh
Yeah i see what you mean, just add some heavy distortion and fuzz to the sound, makes it less 8bit and more synthy. Also what i have been told is to switch to your neck pickup as it runs alot smoother.
Grinning Death
I think Haze has one. I think it's -2 Octave + Fuzz, but I nearly always get this shit wrong.

haze015
I think Haze has one. Sold it. It sounds better run into another fuzz or distortion, using the neck pickup and tone control right down helps it be a little less random. Output is really low though. Protonix
That's great. At the store they've just got and MXR distorsion pedal. Would that fit? I tried with the neck pickup. It improved a bit.
haze015
Can't remember too much about the MXR Distortion, think it was quite middy & "raw", but it's a bit daft to buy pedals to make the Blue Box work.
Protonix
It is, yeah. The MXR Distorsion III. And I was just asking. Never thought about buying it. I'm not so dumb to buy an effects pedal for 100 pounds. WAAAAAAAY too expensive. I just go there to try out some pedals.
Protonix
plus you'll never discover the joys/hideous noise hell of running a mxr blue box before a fuzz factory Haze, and what about this? How does it sound? I could give it a try...

I could give it a try... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAgfw6xyDU0 Something like that, but with all the squealy shit the fuzz factory does I might have to get myself another Blue Box, only sold it to pay for a Boss OC2, which is better suited to what I was after, but the Blue Box was fun, it was actually better for dropping 2 octaves. What in god's name is the drummer wearing on his face!? Heh. That brings back memories from Earls Court..
Protonix
Oh, that thing. Heard it a few times. Weren't Muse playing that on the Earls Court gig? The Blue Box IS fun. And FUNny. Haven't tried it with the FF. I don't want to end like a Matt B wannabe, owning a factory just for the PiB squeal. I'll try the Blue Box a bit more. And then look for the cheapest..... He always wears masks and has a microphone in it, might help with feedback or something because he runs the microphone through loads of pedals. And Earls Court was a lesson in how to open a gig

They are bloody nutters-looks intense being surrounded by all those people.
