NME: T in the Park review

That same very vocal minority was very positive about their gig at Oxygen. I'm guessing they were talking crap as usual and the gig was actually shite

+1.

Some of the folk who went to Glasto and were disapointed ALSO went to Oxegen and loved it. So whatevz.

I think people on here just pick rows for he sake of it. Make snipey comments and then if one comes back, pick up on that one, and so it goes on!

Such a bloody waste of time actually!

Pot.

Kettle.

Black.

So do you though? Saying Muse played a poor setlist because the audience enjoyed a band before them, calling them crap and saying they didn't like the audience because of this is stupid. You're forever coming up with excuses for Muse as if you know them. Just give it up and people wouldn't be making those comments would they? I don't get how when writing such nonsense you don't think people would think how ridiculous that is. I happened to enjoy that band last night you called crap so yes I will say something. Here, have a dose of reality on the house

BUUUUUUUUUUUUURN.

Of course I can appreciate that people can enjoy other performers, but my comment was based on Max saying the line up was poor at T as a direct response to me saying I thought Muse were so much better than the other artists on the coverage. If the line up was poor like Max said it was, I don't think my comment was unreasonable. Either people really misunderstand what is written or they are deliberately pedantic for the sake of it! It gets so boring!

If you say so Carrie

We're getting complacent and greedy - Muse have given so much that we quickly want and expect more. Nothing more in terms of live performance can really be done - they put so much spectacle and energy in, what more do you want? They're only human despite my belief that Matt is in fact God :p Setlist-wise, of course we want the old stuff too but we have to understand this tour is to promote current material.

could not agree more :)

when matt said "we're the most unique band of the decade" ? :stunned:

if he really said so then LMFAO.

and

He did in an NME interview when Black Holes and Revelations came out (its in the NME Icons issue). If he'd said that before The Resistance then he'd have looked like a cocky prat.

And tbh the way you view these arguing differs from person to person. At T they looked alright. Matt was going crazy (he looked like he was trying to shake his own face off during MOTP), Chris was looking cool and Dom was looking like a happy bunny. But the setlist was pedestrian as people have pointed out - it was just the SECC set in November only with a different order, more/different riffs and no Guiding Light or Exogenesis - Overture.

Next year Muse should do the Eurasian Tour in places so far not played (no UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany shows), do some South American shows, maybe headline one or two festivals in July/August then take the rest of 2011 off before reconvening at the start of 2012 for album 6.

I enjoyed them but they definitely looked lazy, and seeing the Oxegen setlist/performance just makes me want to cry that I went to the wrong show.

I know what you mean mate - I went to their first night at the O2, London. Of course, it was still awesome being my first Muse gig but I was definitley annoyed to see that the next night they played Cave and MK Ultra, as well as looking far more pumped and not tired from a RAH spot.

Indeed.

I was there, I had fun (apart from for FG where I just sat down and shut up), I thought the band played very well and they were certainly throwing themselves around a bit.

But to see videos of the 2nd night and here the songs they played was just like a kick in teeth.

In my opinion it's the "bland" setlists that do the damage.

Muse never turn in a "bad" performance, but you can understand if they don't seem so energetic at times, having to roll out 90% of the same setlist every night.

I hope there is a bit of variety at Wembley :) Me and a couple of friends specifically booked the second night out of hope that it might get some more kickass songs.

Citizen Erased, Bliss etc...

Hopefully Wembley will be an epic rock Muse gig and not a "mostly promoting new material" affair.

Maybe you shouldn't have looked at the videos?

It's like buying something in a shop then looking for the same item in other shops and finding it cheaper. If you hadn't looked, you wouldn't be disappointed. :p

As I said before, don't go to Wembley with great expectations of an 'epic rock gig' because the other stadium gigs haven't really been that.

The setlists were very similar to each other and the first stadium gig didn't have any of the setlist poll songs.

I enjoyed all three I went to and I know I will enjoy Manchester and Wembley but I also am not expecting anything 'epic' as such:)

You will enjoy it I'm sure, I definitely will

Wait, HAVING to? It's not like someone else does the setlists for them. If Muse are bored with the setlist they can't blame anyone but themselves.

Unfortunately bands will play wherever there is the big demand and commercial opportunity. That's just how it is. I really do think i'm completely fed up with Muse. In 2006 after a poor gig I didn't want to accept they were bad and tried to get a ticket to another show? On this tour after 3 shows i'm annoyed with myself for still getting involved in all this crap.

Cut them off, it feels great!

That's happened before actually

I bought a Football Manager gamefrom Virgin Megastore then found it was cheaper in HMV. Or it was HMV but cheaper in Virgin. Either way that happened.

Mind you, I wanted to see what MK Ultra and Cave sounded like live. Then I ended up seeing other songs - even Guiding Light sounded better 2nd night.
