cherysprulj
Absolution is my all time favorite. It rocked my world.
The2ndwub
Absolution (The Most Cohesive album they've made) OOS (Amazing but, needs a re-order) The Resistance (Great but IBTY brings it down) BH&R (Needs a Remaster, its a mess) Showbiz (Some meh songs, needs a reorder) T2L (Great songs, not a great album though)
Finn.
Absolution Origin TR/BH&R/T2L Showbiz All the albums have great tracks, but Absolution is the winner to me.
Dominic.
OoS and BH&R are both bang tidy. Abso too but it drags on a little too long
canuckmuser14
ABSOLUTION! I don't think they'll ever top it, but that would be nice xD

Hopix
This confuses me. How come? He just means OoS isn't as cohesive because of the track ordering.
Jazzthief
How come? He just means OoS isn't as cohesive because of the track ordering. That's exactly why Oos IS cohesive and Absolution is not, cause of the track order.
frozenbanana
Spent the last week listening to Muse's studio albums in chronological order (one a day, stuck HAARP in the middle for something different) and I can safely say it reaffirmed that Absolution is my favourite album, followed by Origin, and then by BH&R. Can relate quite easily. Absolution is great as is Origin. I really love BH & R and it's great to see someone else likes it too. I also really like the Resistance and don't understand why it is much maligned.
Alec Ferris
I also really like the Resistance and don't understand why it is much maligned. The very large amount of cheese. That and Guiding Light. I like most of the songs on it and love Exogenesis, but I think GL and I Belong To You are frankly pants, and generally it's rather bloated. Exo is definitely one of my favourite things Muse have ever done, but I feel like the middle of TR lacks quality. I've also found it very hard to listen to the studio version of MK Ultra since I saw that Takeabow19 spoof with the MK bird

I like most of the songs on it and love Exogenesis, but I think GL and I Belong To You are frankly pants, and generally it's rather bloated. USOE and IBTY are good cheese. IBTY succeeds in every way possible: great piano groove, rhymes Leo on Rio, drops the band name (among other self references) and has a terrible, yet awesome french interlude. It's bad, bad, not good. You can't really hate GL, it's so bad it's a legend. Okay, Resistance (the song) is dull, but that's it. What songs are exactly bloated? I meant the album is bloated rather than any of the songs. A little too much sheen, some unnecessary songs.

I'm not sure "succeeds" is the word I would have used! But that neatly sums up my issues with IBTY. I actually cringed a bit just reading that. If that was the sort of thing Matt was going for, it was a huge success, I guess. I listened to every album all the way through a few days back, when I was home sick, and Abso really is hands down my favorite. I had always suspected it was just because it was my first Muse album, but now I truly do believe it is their best one.
Finn.
The Resistance ia easy listeneable from top to bottom. Weakest song is Resistance, other than that: Uprising: Is an anthem. UD: Dull live but brilliant in the record. USoE: One of their best piano songs, with RbS and Megalomania. GL: I enjoy the solo. US: Very underated song, this one is a beast. MKU: Best song of the album? Tied with Exo, i think. IBTY: That one get too much hate for that Sunset movie. Exo: I love Exo. I really enjoy TR, is a solid album. Hat
Uprising is generic crap that's only good for live singalongs. Resistance is crap. USoE looks epic live but I get absolutely no enjoyment out of the studio version GL is GL MK Ultra and US are okay Exo is great when I'm in the right mood. The rest of the album (two songs) is good. Pretty much my exact thoughts as well. Except I'd say I really like MK Ultra and US and don't really rate USOE that much live (it's okay but that's about it). On the whole, TR's still their second worst album imo.

Dee3Dee
Uprising is pants. Resistance is pants, but acceptable when he doesn't bail on the last note (LOL). Undisclosed Desires is pants, especially live, but has cool backing vocals on the album. United States is fucking badass live and is the logical replacement for FG for the rest of their career as a band. I'm just wondering when they'll understand this. Guiding Light is fucking terrible. Unnatural Selection is the obvious replacement for New Born, so naturally they dropped it towards the end of the TR tour and only played it a couple of times towards the end of this tour. MK Ultra is excellent. I Belong To You is alright on the album, but was by far one of the best songs off the album the few times it was played live. Exogenesis is excellent. Tbf Unnatural Selection pretty much replaced New Born for the 2nd US leg onwards, with New Born only being played twice (I think)
serpentsatellite
In that respect, US also replaced Stockholm, too, which I was less thrilled about, even with the positive changes to US live. I never got into USoE on album, and it was one of the songs I was skipping almost immediately. That might have tainted how I felt about it when I saw it live, but I didn't enjoy it there, either. Pretty enjoyable at War Child, though.

Which changes are you referring to? Only ones I've noticed are the vocal distortion, the guitar tone and Matt's obvious improvements vocally (unless those are the ones you're on about ). I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a US/SS rotation, both brilliant live imo (though Stockholm might edge it).
