Wishmaster Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 As some of you will know, on Absolution Dom and Chris voted to have The Small Print on the album instead of Fury, which was Matt's preferred choice (and is the Japanese bonus track). However I think Fury is a far superior track, and wondered what other people thought.
Liam Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 TSP is a better song. I think both should have been on, i dunno why they limited themselves. Fury does have the better lyrics, before BHAR Matt did say it was in his opinion the best lyrics he had written. But Fury hasn't got as much energy to it, it's another creepy/gloomy song, whereas TSP is fast, up tempo and loud.
Drumlicious Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Definately Fury, just for the lyrics, altho i do love TSP too like, shulda had both tbh , Fury shulda been played more live, wile poo that, not the best decision to have tsp imo.
Murtain Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I belive The small print fits in Absolution more than Fury. TSP is a really fast song, it fits in with Butterflies and hurricanes and Endlessly before and after. But if I had to choose one song it has to be Fury, but TSP is right behind.
JackS Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Fury is the better song, but TSP fits in on the album better.
static shadows Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Both are good but I prefer Fury - awesome guitar riff, bass verse riff and chorus. It was my favourite muse song for a while.
U-Mos Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Fury's great, but TSP is better. Put Fury in it's Japanese place on Absolution and it's OK, but sounds slotted in (better as a B-Side); take TSP out of Absolution and it's sorely missed.
Shrinking Universe Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Fury's great, but TSP is better. Put Fury in it's Japanese place on Absolution and it's OK, but sounds slotted in (better as a B-Side); take TSP out of Absolution and it's sorely missed. I'm nearly always skipping TSP, so I could never agree:p
screen_saver Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I love both songs,but Fury is better(Now I'm listening Fury )
Meep Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I love fury .. don't like the studio TSP much. Buuuuut, TSP live is cool so I'm glad it got put on the album in the end.
Muser_Hullabaloser Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Love both songs but I prefer The Small Print.
XxsnowflakesxX Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Fury although I don't think the Small Print sounds that cheap --- as Matt said.
OnlyHappyWhenItRains Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I belive The small print fits in Absolution more than Fury. TSP is a really fast song, it fits in with Butterflies and hurricanes and Endlessly before and after. But if I had to choose one song it has to be Fury, but TSP is right behind. That's exactly what I would have said appart from your last sentance. Imo TSP is better than Fury, but only just.
Mr Fahrenheit Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Fury is a way better song, but TSP fits in with the rest of the album so much more than Fury. If they'd put Fury on instead, it would have turned out too....dunno gloomy's the wrong word..argh someone might know what I mean
Raptor Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Fury should have been in stead of Thoughts of a dying athiest
Murtain Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Fury should have been in stead of Thoughts of a dying athiest No way =D
Mozza Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Fury should have been in stead of Thoughts of a dying athiest agree. TSP is a great song, although it doesn't sounds like a good muse song (if that makes any sense). Toada is terrible!
RustySlide Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 i voted for TSP merely because i need a whammy pedal to play fury and thats just not fun but in truth TSP is a good gig song, especially when trying to impress people who constantly listen to screamo shit... and TSP sounds like some abbreviation that could have a hilarious outcome...
Raiko Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 TSP just sounds more like a B-Side. Of a similar quality to Crying Shame and Easily. Fury is just pure awesomeness!
WutDaFucksy Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 TSP just sounds more like a B-Side. Of a similar quality to Crying Shame and Easily. Fury is just pure awesomeness! but Fury is a b-side and Crying Shame and Easily rawk!
