Tesseract Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Just a little video I thought I would share. The fireworks display in Seattle every year on July 4th is usually a pretty big event so I thought it was cool that they chose to play Muse, and I'm surprised they played as much of the song as they did. Also I quite like how the BOOMS of the fireworks match up with the "Oi!" Anyways I know that the majority of the people here aren't American and could care less about July 4th, but it's still Muse on TV! http://www.king5.com/video/raw/Family-4th-at-Lake-Union-97704749.html Uprising starts at the 14:05 mark.

Strange but fun to watch. thanks for posting. Question: the music was in the streets or only on TV?
Tesseract Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 Strange but fun to watch. thanks for posting. Question: the music was in the streets or only on TV? I believe the music was played for the people actually at the celebration as well as on TV but I wasn't there so I could be wrong...
Trilateral_Symmetry_Com'n. Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 [snip]Uprising starts at the 14:05 mark. Thanks for this! Although for me "Uprising" started at the 17:10 mark (with the clock counting down towards zero). It'll never happen, but wouldn't it be great if a fireworks show used "Darkshines"?
Anxyous Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 "Hey! Let's celebrate our independence from the Britains by playing their music!"

aline_d Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 "Hey! Let's celebrate our independence from the Britains by playing their music!" With Uprising: "We will be victorious!". Amazing how this song can be used for many special occasions
Tesseract Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks for this! Although for me "Uprising" started at the 17:10 mark (with the clock counting down towards zero). It'll never happen, but wouldn't it be great if a fireworks show used "Darkshines"? That's strange, mine was also counting down towards zero but was at a different time marker. Maybe they edited the video after I watched it?
brainwashed Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Strange but fun to watch. thanks for posting. Question: the music was in the streets or only on TV? I was there and they played it on the field... nobody seemed to know the song though...
Gigapoodle Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I was there and they played it on the field... nobody seemed to know the song though... I thought people would at least know Uprising
brainwashed Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I thought people would at least know Uprising They played some lame songs and those ppl recognized. But I think I was the only one jumping bcause the song and my friends, cause they know they have to do it too
aline_d Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I was there and they played it on the field... nobody seemed to know the song though... *typical* I hope they listened to the lyrics.
Wicked And Divine Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I was there and they played it on the field... nobody seemed to know the song though... Cool! Brian/crowbi_wan and I were also there on Sunday night. We were standing near the water close to the beer garden. We're definitely both guilty of singing out loud and doing some fist-pumping. Best part of the show!
Trilateral_Symmetry_Com'n. Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 "Hey! Let's celebrate our independence from the Britains by playing their music!" Well, in fairness to the programmer, the Britons do make a lot of kick-ass music (way out of proportion to their population, really), and our national anthem, "The Star-Bangled Banner," is adapted from an old English drinking song. That probably explains a lot, come to think about it. Now, if the show had used "USoE," then I'd have a problem with it, purely on ideological & symbolic grounds...
