saski86 Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Don't quite get it myself:unsure:, a case of small band slagging off much bigger successful band. But here you go. http://news.qthemusic.com/2010/07/glastonbury_special_interview.html
Chocolate E. Clare Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Muse showed up to our second, third and fourth shows in New York City in this tiny club called The Annex. There were like maybe 50 people there each night and they kept coming and offering to buy us drinks which was weird. yeah, cause when a very successful, famous band like youre music the best thing to do is clearly to slag them off
LyraSilvertongue Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Don't quite get it myself:unsure:, a case of small band slagging off much bigger successful band. But here you go. http://news.qthemusic.com/2010/07/glastonbury_special_interview.html So they came to see their shows and offered to buy them drinks. Why is that "weird"? Sounds friendly to me. The Drums are crap anyway so their opinion matters not.
CarrieB Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 They just sound like twats tbh. Nice way to pay back Muse for attending their tiny gigs and offering to buy them drinks btw.
Iddy Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Sounds like Muse was just being nice to me:erm: They just sound a bit twattish.
saski86 Posted July 3, 2010 Author Posted July 3, 2010 They just sound like twats tbh. Nice way to pay back Muse for attending their tiny gigs and offering to buy them drinks btw. Thats what I thought, bloody charming:mad:. Idiots and their music sucks.
nohopeinfear Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Who in the blue Bells Hell are The Drums?? Fucking 'tards
lukester911 Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 *put them as support act, put them as support act* *piss in a bottle piss in a bottle*
bliss. Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 they should be very happy that Muse attended to their gigs and buy them drinks They are just being nice Muse can buy me drinks next time instead of them :D
xbroken_ideals Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Bit cocky, eh, boys? Who's the more sucessful, more popular and more famous band?
nohopeinfear Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Bit cocky, eh, boys? Who's the more sucessful, more popular and more famous band? Not to mention more talented!
haze015 Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 So they came to see their shows and offered to buy them drinks. Why is that "weird"? Sounds friendly to me. The Drums are crap anyway so their opinion matters not. It is a bit odd to be playing your second show and suddenly a huge, internationally famous band are suddenly talking to you. I sort of understood the point he was trying to make, but he is ultimately wrong, Muse haven't had a huge "impact" on music, always been in the background, so they don't need to split up before they destroy their image, U2 is the same, nobody remembers the 80's because of U2, but they became a huge band... But I guess The Drums are too image conscious, they are after all a New York trying to look like they are from Northern England in the early 80's, shame they make shit music and don't use those bands as proper influences.
Obi Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Sounds like Muse was just being nice to me:erm: They just sound a bit twattish. Indeed. The originality comment doesn't sound like Muse to be honest, but on the other hand it's the sort of thing Oasis, Arctic Monkeys etc seem to say all the time. And I really couldn't care about the drums. They're boring indie shit, and sound like about 1000 other bands. Darn right they don't wanna be original clearly.

I don't see the point of making the same old crap 1000 other bands have made before you. Idiots. I'm glad I missed their support slot at the Kings of Leon Hyde Park gig now.
dead-duck Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I don't even know who they are CH: That is a quote, Muse said that they were the most original band. I don't remember them ever saying that... maybe they'd say they were trying to be original etc. but not calling themselves the best ever, that's not their style...
forevermusic Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Musically The Drums are alright but their vocals and appearance are plain awful. Another one in what is becoming a long list really. But basically that comment just made them sound like prats.
WutDaFucksy Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I don't see the point of making the same old crap 1000 other bands have made before you. Idiots. I'm glad I missed their support slot at the Kings of Leon Hyde Park gig now. Their music was average but it was cringe-worthy to watch them. One was dancing around the stage with a tambourine, the singer was walking like an idiot and they all wore horrible clothes. No wonder they are friends with the Scissor Sisters There were no real good supports at that gig I mean I'd say The Features were the best and they wern't all that and were the first band on the bill
sparkle19 Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I like The Drums album. On stage they are quite cringey Edit: As said above olol.

What are you trying to say about Scissor Sisters?
haze015 Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 OI! What are you trying to say about Scissor Sisters? Hopefully that they are awful. Anyway, it's not like Muse didn't have digs at bands when they were younger, good way of getting attention.
WutDaFucksy Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 OI! What are you trying to say about Scissor Sisters? That I find it all cringey to watch, their set at Glasto made me giggle
beeSides Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 what a laugh. they don't even know what they themselves are doing much less anyone else
Mozza Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Isn't just this just what every new band does? Muse could actually be kinda flattered by this, the new 'uns are now jealous by Muse's success rather than the old Oasis/Coldplay/insert big name here stuff that used to get thrown out. Still, The Drums
funkadelic Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I don't even know who they are I don't remember them ever saying that... maybe they'd say they were trying to be original etc. but not calling themselves the best ever, that's not their style... I remember that quote being on the cover of NME once, but in the actual article Matt said something completely different.
