Muse Get Glastonbury Chart Boost

Muse are set to return to the top-10 on the UK album chart this week following their headline set at the Glastonbury festival last weekend.

The band's triumphant performance has boosted sales of 'The Resistance', which originally debuted at number one last September.

yup, for all the people slating their set on these boards, all of my non muse fan friends (ie, they like/know muse as general mainstream consumers not exactly 'fans') have said they have fallen in love with muse all over again since watching their set.

yeah, i've only seen a couple of disgruntled souls around here dissing the gig. everywhere else people, fans or not, only have good things to say. even muselive, where there's also been plenty of negativity lately, everyone is all :awesome: about glasto, especially the ones who attended ;)

i've seen quite a few saying they prefer '10 to '04 as well.

Not really, strangely.

This is true re: your everyday joe who doesn't really follow music much.

Whenever I get a cab in London or talk to some random person on a bus/train etc, if I ever mention Muse they'll always say "Who?"

I always describe Muse as the most famous "unknown" band.

 Wow, this really surprised me. With how many magazines and newspapers they seem to be in, and with the crazy coverage of Glastonbury, I thought they were absolutely huge in their home country.

Really? I'd say Muse, along with Coldplay and Radiohead, are perhaps the most well known pop/rock band in the country.

Absolutely no way. 'Well known' to me means people have at least heard of them, if not actually listened to their music.

I talk to a lot of people through my job and I still consistently find more people (of all ages) who haven't heard of them than who have.

I have met plenty of people who have never heard of all three of them:facepalm:, I'm not even joking. Seriously I think some people must live in a hole there whole life. They are more likely to have heard of Girls Aloud, Westlife and X-Factor contestants:(. I guess its to do with tabloid media coverage.

100% correct :yesey:

I actually spoke to THREE people the other day who said that Kylie and Scissor Sisters saved Glastonbury from being a shitty, hippy rock turd

And that next year they should get Westlife, Girls Aloud, JLS, The Saturdays and Boyzone to headline

This was a serious conversation aswell, which makes it even sadder.
