Eternal Galaxy
There are no pwopa words to embrace my feelings of how incredibly fantastic and beautiful it was:stunned: Don't wanna seem to be silly, but I cried when I heard this song with Matt's voice...and I cried again when I saw it:$ It was so emotional, because I love that U2 song and...to hear how Matthew singing it and his smile... you know... it's just too much for me to stay calm...I just couldn't help fighting ...erm...tears
Pythagorus
First time I heard it, I really didn't like it. Now I can't stop listening to it, its brilliant! and a nice gesture for the U2 fans that were there.
Furygirl
I thought it was great, and a nice thing to do for the disappointed U2 fans. I'm not so much a U2 fan now, but I was in the '80s, and I've always loved that song. Awesome job!
escapist
Mum's been a U2 fan since... forever, and SHE APPROVES!!! She's recently become a Muse fan.
Novus Dies
Bono he ain't just doesn't suit the song at all. Not that it was performed bad, thank fuck Edge was there. I don't think I could bare it without his guitar playing
mjarre
Normally I would be pissed for getting the likely choice of the 3 setlist poll songs but Citizen Erased + Where The Streets Have No Name? Good luck topping that. This is probably one of, if not the best covers Muse have ever done in their CAREER. I liked this cover also, but my favorite Muse cover is "Can't Take My Eyes Off You":)
miss_meadows
I liked this cover also, but my favorite Muse cover is "Can't Take My Eyes Off You":) Oh yes, that cover is awesome!!! But I'm not sure if I'd still love it that much with his "nowadays voice". I mean, his voice has changed quite a bit since then and it was just perfect with his voice and singing style back then. Gigapoodle
Awesome cover is really awesome. Maybe I could show this to my mum (huge U2 fan) and persuade her a bit. Good job Muse.
musingowl
I think there's always going to be people who hate U2 for the sake of it, I was just a casual fan but saw them on their 360 tour and they really blew me away, also they all seemed genuinely nice and down to earth guys with their banter with the audience. On the other side theres gonna be muse haters saying how Bellamy is "trying to be bonno". I suggest both sets put their hatred efforts into something more worth hating, Coldplay for example or Burning the top of your mouth when your soups too hot. You really do have to sit back and say this is an exeptional cover, als its on the 1st page of the most viewed on youtube today so expect an mp3 release very soon

Novus Dies
Muse most viewed video (considering time) being a U2 cover? Says a lot about how big their past 3/4 singles have been to the public.

Idk, a lot of earlier Muse songs I preferred with Matt's younger voice, but CTMEOY I prefer much more with his current voice.

Or it could just be, y'know, U2. Muse aren't really that well known for the lavishings the press give them.

haze015
At what point is this a "cover"? It's almost like Morrisey "covering" Smiths songs or Slash playing Guns & Roses!

ciaz
I hardly ever post on this board but I saw this again on YouTube recently I thought I'd see the Muse fans' reaction to it. I was there and this was truely phenomenal. I'm a big muse fan and a huge U2 fan. I've been wanting U2 to play glastonbury for years and years - I have so many 'glastonbury' playlists on my ipod that I've created from U2 live tracks just in hope (yes, I'm sad). So you can just imagine how thrilled I was to hear they were playing this year... and then totally, totally gutted when they had to pull out. I was still gonna have a great festival, it's Glastonbury ffs and muse are playing, but in the build up to Gorrillaz on Friday night I still couldn't help but feel a bit empty knowing who was meant to be there. Muse played saturday night and I absolutely loved it, they were great (they have been everytime I've seen them live). Then the encore starts... the familiar red backdrop... the synth. I see The Edge walk on stage and I went absolutely nuts. I've seen a lot of live music and I have never, ever lost myself in the music like that before. I'm thinking.. hang on is this streets? it is streets! holy f*ck thats the edge! no way! My friends were pretty shocked by my reaction, I mean, I was going totally mental. Completely awesome, Dom, Matt and Chris all did great, it was just fantastic, the best musical moment that's ever happened in my life. I felt completely satisfied after that - Streets is a song that just deserves to be played at Glastonbury. So, props to Muse. They totally made the festival for me. They would have done anyway, but this... was just incredible. Awesome. Sorry guys, I just had to post that.
Scott Morrison
I'm not really a U2 fan, but I really loved it. Especially all the harmonies. And Smiley-Matt. I do hope they release it as a B-side or something.

Only just come across this thread and it is wonderful to see the reaction of the fans. Sadly I wasnt there to witness this incredible performance live but I have watched it over and over and over again and it keeps getting better. You can feel the emotion of the fans but particularly from Matt. If that is through the TV god only knows what it feels like to have been there...... This is probably a dumb question, but what do you think the chances are that Muse take this song on tour with them? Drop the megaphone and do this instead!!! I know it wouldnt be quite the same without The Edge but i truly think they could pull it off....
