Well, what's played on the radio is what most people listens to. But I'm talking about Norway here, and we've only got 3 music channels, and they all only play shit. So maybe I have lower standards when it comes to music than you do.

...I just said that what is played in the radio isn't what the standards of music are.

Wouldn't what is standard in music be judged by the music, and not who listens to the music?

My point=There are thousands of rock bands for every Rebecca Black.

Well, they are here.

FFS. No they aren't. There are 100x more bands that aren't played on the radio. You are missing the point.

Let's make it simple. There are 100 bands in the world. 10 of these are played on the radio and loved by the majority. This means that it's standard to like this band.

90 of these bands aren't. 90 vs 10 means that these 90 bands are more representative of what the standards of music today are.

And you're missing my point. I'm not talking about music in general. Every single teenager around me only listens to shit, and that's the only thing that's played on the radio. Because of that, my standards to what's good music are really low, because it's good as long as someone actually plays a real instrument. I am totally aware that there are hundreds of good bands out there, but I'm not exposed to any of them through neither the radio nor people around me.

Does any of this even make sense to you?

But then there is nothing wrong with the standard of todays music, just the standard of what you are exposed to. Which is exactly what I said in my first post.

All of those are local. Except for maybe 3 or 4 of them, I couldn't listen to them if I wanted to.

Your most over-used phrase on the messageboards :chuckle:

I know they are :p

You have NRK P1, P2, P3 and P4. And Radio Norge.

Radio 1

NRJ

Radio Metro

The Beat

P5

All of those should be easy to listen to too.

I know, and that's why I have been repeating myself to point out that I'm talking about standards in music, not standards in popular music, which is what you said in your first post, and I pointed out in mine :p
