I'm not sure if it's because i don't 'get' dubstep, but this is horrible. The synth sounds like one of those tubes that if you turn it upside down makes a noise, and the drums are out of time for most of the first half.

I thought it was cool. I liked that it didn't sound anything like the original and I certainly didn't think it was out of time. Possibly you down to you not 'getting' dubstep.

The drums definitely not out of time. Just a typical half time rhythm with lots of swing. :)

The drums aren't out of time at all.

Also, nicely done Haze!

Don't mean to sound musically arrogant or anything. But Dubstep... I just can't hack it... Ughhh.

Is it meant to sound out of tune and whiney??

Don't mean to sound like a troll... But that's how I perceive it.

And I'm talking about all the Dubstep I've heard, not just this.

And I've got good speakers thanks, requiring expensive speakers specially to make a certain musical genre sound 'decent' enough to listen to is sort of a testimony to the musical genre itself...

Hardly.

It's a different culture to how music is produced (Starting with Dub in the early 70's) where it's meant to sound as good as possible in clubs and any big sound system in general rather than endearing towards what sounds good on the radio or average home setup.

The sine wave drops in this either you won't hear, or they'll seem really quiet, in a club, they'll tear you apart and you'll feel them in your stomach

The out of tune thing is to make you feel uncomfortable, happens all the time in film scores and certain areas of classical music.

I suppose. :)

I have to say in clubs it is epic, revoking my earlier posts somewhat.

I clearly see its purpose there, but other scenarios and it isn't a great sound imo.

Anyway, my remix was only done in a few hours and I'm hardly the biggest fan of Dubstep, so it's just a bit of lulz. Gimme normal pounding 4/4 beats and sidechained bass any day
