Emmnic
Does anyone know how to get to and from the gig at Old Trafford using public transport? I live in North Wales. Any information would be much appreciated
psyence53
Coaches? I'm using a coach or train from London area. Not sure what is available for Wales, but if those options are available, might be worth a look. Nation Express or something
Mnemonix
Once you are in Manchester town centre, its trivial to get to the LCCC. If you get to a train station, you can take the metrolink tram from there to piccadilly gardens, and then jump on an eccles tram, which stops outside the cricket club. Luckily I live in Manchester so getting there is going to be easy
agenthal
Try megabus. Really cheap bus routes and they're nice buses too with wifi!
Mozza
You should be able to get a train from most N.Wales stations to Chester and then from there to either Machester Piccadilly or Oxford Road (some like Rhyl and Llandudno are direct to Oxford Road). From that point there will be plenty of buses and taxis and there is a train station outside Old Trafford football ground, though I'm not sure how frequently trains run seeing as it's outside of the football season. You can get cheaper train tickets by booking specific ones in advance by booking through any train company (I use East Midlands trains, they don't charge a booking fee like trainline do). Sometimes you can make your journey cheaper by splitting it up into parts, say buying a single to Chester and then a single from Chester to Manchester can work out cheaper than a single to Manchester. /travels on trains a lot
jack259
seeing as it's outside of the football season. We'll be back into the football season by then
Mnemonix
The station outside of LCCC is not a train station but a tram station, with regular trams (7 minutes) to the city centre, including the 2 major railway stations.
Mnemonix
I must very much apologize, it is the altrincham tram you need to take for old trafford, not the eccles tram
