MusoCuts
A friend of mine don't like Muse at all and there's two songs he liked when i showed him Forced In and Fillip. And now he likes Showbiz (not the album, the song only ) However, i think Sunburn is a great song to get into Muse or maybe The Groove and Space Dementia

LyraSilvertongue
Just keep them well away from Micro Cuts. Save it for when they're well and truly hooked.
LyraSilvertongue
I made a mix CD for my brother with songs lie Apocalypse Please. Stockholm Syndrome, Knights, Hysteria, City of Delusion etc. He complained that it was all a bit too theatrical and over-the-top for his taste so I made him another one with lower-key songs with strong basslines. I'm still awaiting his verdict. But he's coming to Wembley anyway whether he wants to or not

TrebleRose689
Just keep them well away from Micro Cuts. Save it for when they're well and truly hooked. I actually think I forever ruined my chances of getting my friend Shauna to ever like Muse because of Micro Cuts. I was listening to it about a week or so ago and kind of humming along (I actually really like that song... but it's definately an acquired taste )and she was like "What are you listening to?" and I told her it was Muse (which I had mentioned to her before) . And she goes "Oh, let me listen." And I tried to tell her to wait a minute and I would find a better song, but she pulled the earbuds out of my ears and put them on and her face goes like this and she goes "Is he speaking English? What the heck is this?" And then starts the song from the beginning, listens to the whole thing, and laughs her ass of trying to decipher the lyrics. (Admittedly, the stuff she came up with was kind of funny -- "Hams are red river beds. Butterflies screaming in pain" etc ). But now she thinks of Muse as a huge joke (though she did say "the guitar at the end was kinda cool") and won't let me try to play her a better song... Ugh! Kaimon
Newborn has worked well for me. It's really introduced me to Muse and helped me get a friend into them as well I think that if you're going to introduce Muse to a friend you might want to start off with singles. Those are the things that stuck with me when I was first listening to them.
ArizonaMuse
I would just give my friends ABSOLUTION - that album is pretty diverse - and damn good! Sucked me right in. AMxx
Stellaris
I just made a playlist for my boyfriend with these songs: Sunburn Showbiz New Born Bliss Space Dementia Hyper Music Citizen Erased Dark Shines Apocalypse Please Stockholm Syndrome Butterflies & Hurricanes Endlessly Map of the Problematique Exo-Politics City of Delusion Unnatural Selection MK Ultra Exogenesis I had a REALLY hard time narrowing it down. My first attempt at a playlist had 30-something songs and was more than 3 hours long. I took out the songs he already knows and likes (Time is Running Out, Hysteria, Supermassive Black Hole, Knights of Cydonia, Uprising, United States of Eurasia) plus a few others. His main complaint about Muse is that he thinks all their songs sound very similar and have the same tempo. I hope my list convinces him otherwise! I'm also pretty sure that he'll be a diehard fan after we see them live in October.
Gareeh
most of my pals watch sky sports so the obvious choice is starlight. probably knights of cydonia, plug-in baby and hysteria are good choices too.
Hat
I got a friend into Muse with Stockholm Syndrome, Assassin and Execution Commentary He was a real Metal-fan so I thought that would be a good start, turns out his favorites right now are Glorious, TIRO and Exo-Politics. lemons
i got my best friend into them a few weeks ago. i had been listening to stockholm syndrome and she was like "ooh i like this." then my ipod shuffled to i belong with you, and she fell in love. we listened to it like 3 times in a row until i got control of the ipod and brought us to butterflies and hurricanes. she still wanted to hear "the song with the french." the verdict is that she likes the newer stuff, obviously. ZRoy626
I gave my friend a Mix CD of Muse songs. It started with the HAARP recording of Knights of Cydonia. It then went to other core songs like Hysteria and Plug in Baby. Those are the best to introduce someone to Muse. He's now a Muse fan.

5clone
I'd probably go for: Bliss New Born Plug in Baby Uprising Undisclosed Desires United States of Eurasia Sunburn Muscle Museum Hysteria Starlight Take A Bow Map of the Problematique Knights of Cydonia Maybe Cave or Unintended could go as well. grw
Supermassive black hole was the song that I first heard, and it certainly got me interested! I'd say... muscle museum, new born, plug in baby, feeling good, TIRO, hysteria, SMBH, KofC, uprising, undisclosed desires... Basically I'd go with their singles as introductory songs. prob why they were chosen as singles lol
