Eh, could have been better. 3.5/5.
1.5 catchy chorus despite cringey lyrics but other than that it just sounds like a parody of muse
It's a great song though it's far from their best. They've made better but there's just something about this song that I just like a lot. It could be the heroic feel that makes me feel all happy. It could be those arpeggio synths that I always love a lot. Hell I could be blinded by fanboyness, but I don't care.
to me, it's cringeworthy and unlistenable for the most part... it's two stars come from the couple of interesting musical bits....
It's Guiding Light meets Starlight meets Knights of Cydonia-lite.
It's cheesy, it's lovey-dovey, it's happy.
And you know what? It's growing on me. It's not their best, but not their worst. It's in the middle, just as my rating is (approximately of course, seeing as how the middle would be 2.5/5. I'm rounding up, okay?)
I gave it a 4. It's definitely not their best, but I still really like it. Catchy and cheesey lyrics. Sounds typical resistance-style Muse + a little Knights of Cydonia.
I like it, love the piano and drums in the beginning
Gave it a 3. Completely average for a Muse song. It's pretty static to me through a couple listens and doesn't have that great, defining stretch that all my favourite songs have.
But not the 1 I anticipated from the preview.
Edit: the single would be better if we had some more song on it!!!
Will I want to hear it live? No... but it's better than GL
Will I be listening to it still in a month? No
Does it stand up to Muse classics? No
Did it send chills down my spine? HELL no
3. It's not their best, it's incredibly cheesy, but it's fun and catchy. Also, it seems like something Matt just needed to get out of his system.
4 would be very good to great, and 5 would be outstanding. So as I think it's quite good, 3 will have to do.
At the moment, 3. Average Muse song. But Muse songs always grown on me. I don't mind it. It's nice. Cheesy but nice
1/5, a terrible, cheesey unsatisfying song saved only by that piano at the end. Give it up matt, you're not freddie mercury. can muse please stop pretending to me queen and starting making proper music again?
3/5. I ended up liking it more than I thought I would based on the clip we originally got, but it's nothing spectacular by any means. I think the lyrics are what kills it for me the most. It has a few moments I like alot though (like the piano at end). And Matt's voice sounds great. Still though. Nothing special.
The lyrics don't bother me one bit. I think it's a good song. Nothing spectacular, except maybe the ending, but enjoyable none the less. My only complaint would be that the verses have a backing that sounds too much like Knights of Cydonia. As if they just used the same chunk of music twice to make things easier for themselves.
Pretty conclusive so far then. 3.5/5
Not bad given it's with Twilight ect.
I'd give it a 4 at the moment... But I'll wait a day or two make a solid opinion
It was ok.... cheesy lyrics, but musically appealing.
Just not as good as the majority of other songs they've made. Trying too hard to fit too many different songs into one.
The death of a very good band
3 stars. I like it enough to give it 4 stars, but if I dig a little deeper than I don't really think it deserves that much.
Lol at the people who rated it 0.
5 stars. Classic new muse, expected
musically it is pretty great. lyrically...meh... it's a well written love song.
