Ross
I've never in my life been around people who talk about other people in such a disrespectful, horrible way as this site, particularly about people who actually deserve respect. And I'm only responding to this post as an example. Whether or not people agree with the way Muse conduct their careers, there's no need for rudeness. I'm sorry, but for the way they've treated their fans over this tour, from the scandanavian "rehearal gigs" comment, to them totally ignoring the polls on several occasions, they do NOT deserve respect. Totally agree, if you don't like that everything there doing doesn't suit you, thats your choice, but there's no need to express it on a public place such as this. After the years of dedication muse and the guys have put into producing fantastic music for people to enjoy, people still find it okay to slag them and all of their efforts off, just because there not playing a song you want to hear. If i was in their position, touring must be so disheartening knowing that your trying to give your all, and you still have 'fans' bitching about your every move... superimposition
Setlists polls ending up being wank for Muse. Way to go. Muse just keep on disappointing me lately.
Maneachicken
For me personally I just wish that in soundchecks that they endeavour more to rehearse other songs from the polls in order to actually play them live - however the point of my post is this: for example; Take a Bow is back, it's a song I kept bringing up in nearly every plausable thread possible throughout the arena tour to try and publicize it and ultimately (as also proved with Bliss, CE, IBTY and MK), the way Muse listen to their fans is here on the boards, and when they do listen, they listen to those suggestions that have manner, general support and an air of politeness behind them, [rant] not to the ignorance of those who obviously don't understand that Muse are human beings, wanted to play near to everywhere, with families and allsorts. I'm sure it is more than discouraging to see 'fans' with the attitude some people are conveying in this thread. Just consider things differently before you post next time guys. I know you felt the need to put the word "fans" in quotation marks because people who complain aren't real fans. I mean, despite the fact that we complain because we know they can do so much better, we're not real fans. You're absolutely right.

They're coasting. even the whole setlist thing was riddled with get-out clauses, "endeavour to", "at least one". Even then, they've not done that, despite the fact that they've reheared and played consistently two songs which could be played at each gig, but they haven't. there've been gigs which have been screwed over because the guys, quite frankly, have looked to take the easiest route, and make it easier. It shows a total lack of respect for their fans. As for the "no need", people are just as entitled to criticise them harshly as people are to defend them to the hilt
Zaphod Chizzlebrox
At the end of the day, Muse™ charge their fans what could be considered extortionate amounts for tickets and merchandise (and saying people choose to pay that does not give Muse™ the right to do so), so the least people should expect is that Muse™ show effort on stage. I can pay a fiver to a band night in Manchester, see a good band play good music, and their sets are pretty much as long as the Muse™ sets from the last arena tour. I used to love the outro riffs and all that, but now they bore me, and to be honest I think they're in the set so Muse™ don't have to play as many of their own songs. Muse™ have become lazy and complacent, and no amount of Bellamy™ playing Bliss "for that bloody messageboard" can change that. They've become more celebrity-obsessed, and have turned into what they once hated. If I didn't think it was such a cliche, I'd say Muse™ have totally sold out. Max
How Muse conduct their careers is one thing. Shitting on the fans that got them to the position they're at now is a completely different thing and one that I find highly disrespectful.

I'm referring to the people constantly calling them cunts and pricks. What kind of fans are these people? Yes, criticism is needed. There setlists are too static and often ignore fan favourites but there is no need to be so vulgar.

I bet you'd NEVER see Muse do something like that.

A band that has to lug instruments, lighting etc. from venue to venue. (That said, good on him for doing so)

Mozza
I'd get the feeling the polls were a case of 'hey we've played the same few songs we thought everyone wanted to here but we want the input of the fans who still love our older stuff so tell us what you want to hear to educate our newer fans'. Seems like a really cool thing to do. But then it seems they've turned round and said 'you've chosen the wrong things so we're not keeping our end of the bargain'. Again I don't know this to be true it's just my perception
