Hat
As long as he adds some distortion to the vocals, he really doesn't need to do much to sound badass.
SoberCitizen
That's true, I'm pretty sure one of the reasons why I prefer Montreal's Micro Cuts to Reading's is the sexy effect during the chorus. He really should use more distortion.

SoberCitizen
Jesus I had forgotten how good that one was, thanks! KoC is the only song I can think of for which I prefer less vocal effects rather than more during the first hald -- imo, any other song is improved by adding, and I'd love to hear Survival with distortion. Hat
pff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sto7YTczfP0&t=2m22s vs it needs to sound as big as in the first one imo. Stripping it of the reverb and whatnot makes it sound kinda dull, especially as Matt gets older.
SoberCitizen
Ok, the Shepherds Bush one does sound a bit weak, but as a general rule, I still prefer versions like these http://picosong.com/YfWX/ (at 3:45) rather than the standard 'watered-down' reverb effect (terrible description, sorry) we usually get like here:

You realise you're comparing a large festival ground that holds 50k people to a small-ish concert hall that holds 2k?

Distorted vox on The Small Print would be sweet. D'you reckon they'd work well on Assassin?

OriAr
Easily should have been on BH&R instead of Exo-Politics.
serpentsatellite
That's hardly controversial. That's like saying Fury or Glorious should have been on their respective albums instead of... well, like literally any other song. imo.

serpentsatellite
Hmm. Close call, but I'd still probably say yes. B&H is one that I like, but not nearly as much as everyone here seems to. SS I think I just got a bit burned out on, and might have replied differently years ago, I suppose. Actually, I probably wouldn't replace SfA. TSP instead of Fury was always
Clunge
Fury in for Endlessly is the only tweak I'd make to Absolution. I'd take Glorious over Starlight, Soldier's Poem, Invincible and Exo-Politics, although I'd still not let it anywhere near the album. BH&R would be my favourite Muse album if it ran: Take A Bow Map Of The Problematique Supermassive Black Hole Assassin (Ext.) City Of Delusion Hoodoo Knights Of Cydonia Short, sweet albums > bloated albums.
kueller
I like short and sweet but a 30 minute album is pushing it.
FabriPav
Add Easily, Glorious, and you have a great 40 minutes album.
Clunge
Can't stand either, personally. The BH&R era really was very black and white for me - loved 50% of it, loathed the rest. I think I'd take that over the 80% 'meh' of the two albums since.

Clunge
Spot on. Chuck in Supremacy, Survival and Exogenesis abd I'm the same. They all stack up again Muse circa LPs 1-3 but the rest is dross, really.
Tom//P
UD became a lot better this tour imo (at least in videos). Not for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW0y-T8tiWc and some had the cool intro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIA3lVMTSwQ
