Jazzthief
Nope. Have never been amazed by the T2L performances, maybe that's why I started to seriously dislike the song. But today the V Fest version came on and it sounded amazing, nothing like the limp 2013 performances.

Jazzthief
But they just don't. It blew my face off when I saw it. They do. Haven't heard them in person, but from every recording that I've heard, they sound just boring.
FabriPav
Haven't heard them in person Oh that's why then. Even though I thought it sounded amazing even before listening to it in person.
Ryoma-kun
Dead Star at Emirates was slightly disappointing, mainly due to high expectations though. I really enjoy the recording from SBE and a few of the others from this tour. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Is it me or have Dom's drums been beefed up in the mix lately? Though then again I remember them being pretty damn punchy at Reading '11.
FabriPav
I think this tour he started using samples triggered by his actual drums, to make it beefier. Or was it from the TR tour already?

Not sure. I don't remember a particular amount of beef at Wembley 2010, but Reading probably had that if my memory of the sound serves.

Are the samples layered on top of his actual drumming?

Yeah, I think Leeds/Reading was where the drums started sounding like they are now. TR was decent but I think it is noticeably better now.
Alec Ferris
Yeah, I think Leeds/Reading was where the drums started sounding like they are now. TR was decent but I think it is noticeably better now. Sounds plausible to me. I think there's also been something of a wider trend towards a beefier drum sound lately- Editors' last album and Pure Love's debut spring to mind. Dave.
The beefy drums are amazing I just love the power of drums live and on a record.
Ryoma-kun
I think they used samples for drums during TR-tour aswell. KoC from Fuji comes to mind as a performance with seriously beefy drums. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Hat
Animals is the baddest song from The 2nd Law with Save Me. I think this post puts focus on the wrong song, considering which thread we're in EDIT: Oh wait, you ACTUALLY mean bad, as in "worst".
