Yeah...To think it's basically just a few lines sung over and over and over again, but it's done with such intensity that you can't help but love it...That ending falsetto too <3...

+1 I really like the build up, the solo, and the epic falsetto at the end. I also like the fact that Matt wrote that song when he was 18, I think that's really impressive, because if they wrote something like that during the Absolution era, it wouldn't be as impressive.

I agree with author, it basically "Controlling my feelings for too long" 230 times over with a few "You make me FEEEL", with the same music lines. Powerful or not, it's dull.

It is repetitive, but still. Con-Science is very repetitive as well, but the build up in that song is great.

I'm sure I read that when they created the album Showbiz they deliberately excluded their more progressive/experimental songs from the time. After all it was to be a debut album and they needed it to be a relative commercial success. That said, I think that the title track is the most progressive/experimental track on the album - the way it builds up is magic IMHO. It's probably my third favourite track on the album after Sunburn and Cave. :)

THEY MAKE MEEEEEEEEEEEYAHOOOOOOOOO, MAKE ME SCREAM YOUR SCREEEEEAMS

That's why. And obvs the scream at the end, and throughout the entire song really.

yeah pretty much, but the most i always loved the second ascent to the chorus, the way he sings that is immense

The way you've been defending the Drones songs you're really not the one to talk

But it's quite obvious that repetition is kind of the purpose of that song. It really wouldn't have been difficult to throw a few extra nonsense lines in there.

Once I deem a post on the board worthy of le maymay response (not yours), I can't stop myself. But yeah it is the point of the song but it just works against it to me since I lose interest partway every listen.
