ADAMWD
It's incredibly hard to have such a powerful and emotional build-up in a song that actually works. That, and the ending is epic.
musechicago
The build up. Sober's great too. Dat falsetto!
Ionnas
The ending. I ADORE great vocal performances, and Showbiz satisfies my crave for talent. Plus, the song is overall good.
haze015
What is interesting is how it progresses and builds despite it just being the same 5 chords over and over and no variation in the lead guitar or vocal melodies at all really. A bit reminiscent of late 60's - 70's German bands, which makes the song awesome by default.
Mozza
It appeals to me, that's why I like it
Saracene
Even leaving aside my general dislike of Matt's early vocals, I think Showbiz is a pretty average song. Way too angsty and repetitive.
Dina F.K.K.
it's hard and powerful both the music and the lyric. it's a kind of pure rock i think, but it's really works. i love how matt screaming in the song and the guitar riff as well.
NicePockets
i think it's brilliant. the raw emotion behind it, and i know many people don't like the early vocals, but i think they sound amazing, pure and screechy and....
Zaphod Chizzlebrox
It goes back to what Muse were originally all about, the rock. There's more passion in that one song than there is in the whole of The Resistance. In my opinion.

MusoCuts
Best song ever and ever (with Forced in). i think matt is really true, i mean he is feeling is music, he gets into what life makes him angry = make an explosion in the sky All (riff, lyrics, bass line, drums) is very simple but well executed. Just watch the gigs wherre they finished with Showbiz!!! How amazing it is
AmyJaynee
Showbiz is great; the note Matt hits is legendary I have to admit, it's not one of their best songs,, but that is considering how much they have done since then :/
s3ker
Perhaps that could change your opinion? I think Showbiz is a great song
miss_meadows
I love it, it feels so passionate, angry, frustrated, honest. The lyrics are relatable, typical for a certain phase in almost everybody's life.
Evadd
Perhaps that could change your opinion? I think Showbiz is a great song God! That's so amazing. It's unbelievably emocional. Gives me the creeps everytime I hear.

Hat
I've never understood why everyone loves the Reading performance from 2006 so much. Almost every performance of it between 1999 and 2002 beats it big time.
lily93
It's a brilliant and powerful song and sounds like the band actually fucking mean it. This.
hyper_chondriac_muser
It's a brilliant and powerful song and sounds like the band actually fucking mean it. This. It's fucking epic. That ending is so unbelievably powerful and out of this world, I get fecking chills whenever I hear it. I can't believe that's a human voice sometimes . Showbiz the song is def not overrated, imo... in fact, I don't think it's appreciated enough. I'd die of joy if I saw it live! The Hullabaloo performance is by far the best, imo. He almost does a better job of the end than the studio version . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJyWvT_pZAE

So true, I was happy to see it in 2006, but it doesn't come close to the early performances. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RkGRt6H74c This one is class. Pyroma
Just out of interest, what makes you feel it's one of their worst? Granted, i can kinda see where you're all coming from with the progression of the song, and the end bit being good, and all this, but the first however-many-minutes until the guitar solo just doesn't really make it worth it for me. Dull isn't the word I'd use for the beginning, but i find it a little "uninteresting", shall we say.... And, also, I don't tend to relate to songs unless they're strikingly similar to me, so it doens't strike any chords personally....(or maybe its just because I'm unattatched and standoff-ish)
Starlight Chaser
As with most things, it's obviously a matter of preference. I think it's amazing though, easily one of their finest moments.

I connect to it totally emotionally and it certainly builds the adrenalin. I think it's an awesome song.
Kirby
While it's not my absolute favorite, it is one of my favorites. Showbiz is just my favorite album. I dunno, I like the raw/rough sound. We all have different opinons, that would be why some people love it and some don't.
