And btw, just bc they said they'd play them does not mean something went wrong. The facts are they said they'd play it, they didn't, and didn't say why. So nothing is obvious. And flip through the past 100 or so pages, we're not the only to think this setlist was quite poor. Childish is the only thing you know. blinkin fightuse Posted June 3, 2010 Share Posted June 3, 2010 from what i can tell, nobody is bitching about the SHOW, but about the setlist. which i think they can because the fans were told one thing and given another. i doubt there was a technical problem which caused them not to play the songs, i think they just didn't want to put it in the set for this show. which brings up the reason why people are pissed. they said they would, and they didn't. I just came in, but isn't the point of this argument that they didn't play even the top two songs in the polls like they had said they would and didn't say they had problems getting them ready either? I mean, that doesn't have anything to do with enjoying newer Muse. I love The Resistance and I'm extremely disappointed that they didn't listen to their fans. I never said that Muse's new music is inferior to their older stuff. In fact TR is my 2nd fav album next to Absolution. I've said I'm thrilled that they are playing both IBTY and TaB (by your standards, "newer Muse"). I've said I thought those songs were superior to CE (by your standards, "older Muse"). I've said my major problem is that they set up and promised to play songs from a fan selected poll and ignored them. It's the principle of ignoring the polls, not the songs themselves. Who knows why they didn't play CE or Bliss, I'm betting it was some "last minute cut" of the song. We will know the next time they play a stadium gig. Muse appears to be reinvigorated again...after I saw that last one. There is more than likely some reason other than "ignoring their fans" I just wish everyone would stop fucking complaining. One of the better analyses I've read on this matter. yeah considering now that they didn't play ce as reported earlier, I'll admit that's quite awful and reflects poorly on the band. Not a dealbreaker for me at all, but worth some criticism. Still a pretty good setlist and I'm pumped about unintended, though. Hopefully the poll snub was an aberration. Most of you guys are throwing a hissy fit because the band didn't play one or two songs from an online poll on just one of their 20+ European Summer shows and said songs were played at previous shows last week. Ok. that seems to be the case, and I'm not sure why it's allowed here Why is everybody so angry on behalf of the people who actually attended this gig? Shouldn't we wait and find out if they actually had a terrible time or not? The same happened on the Casino de Paris thread. People who weren't there said it was a disgrace' date=' those who were there said it was awesome.[/quote'] the people who attended are probably afraid to post anything positive in here now:( I might have been directing "Eternal Pessimist" at the wrong person, but there were definitely some people saying "Muse has gone to shit, they don't care about they're fans, they're fucking lazy etc" I'd say thats being pretty negative. Agreed! I don't know why they did not play the poll winners, but did we not observe that the audience was dead last week when they played Citizen Erased?
