You know, I really don't care if they want to go completely over the top, with the wacky stage, acrobats, UFOs, lifts, lights, balloons, rising pillars, etc. Blowing people's minds or confusing them, it's still Muse. Eccentric.

I don't even care if Matt wants to wear bra and panties on stage and nothing else - he can do whatever the hell he wants, it's his clothes.

But saying you're going to play songs, and then not. That deserves an explanation. Not fair to the fans at all.

Totally.

THIS. It can be as RIDICULOUS as you like, completely MENTAL and over the top.

But to promise that you're gonna play tunes, and then DON'T...that's just not acceptable.

It's not Twilight and it's not that they're commercial...they're just lazy. 21 songs at a stadium gig is not acceptable. They should be doing 21 songs for Arena gigs and 25+ for stadium.

IT IS Twilight... at least in my country.. they were NOBODY before Twilight, I really tell you, I've known Muse for several years, now it's a shame, they appear on TV, spots, programmes and teens go crazy with Supermassive... but they can't listen to their previous albums, Supermassive is enought for them

So yeah what did I miss?

:p

Setlist looks a bit....off. Why didn't they play any of the poll winners?

Because the 7-stringed was stolen by aliens and the pwetty lazers for Bliss didn't work. And the rest? Well, I don't even think Muse know that the songs exist.

I think the disappointment comes from the fact that we know they're more than capable of bringing back old rarities as a one-off, they've played the likes of Dead Star, Ruled By Secrecy and even Can't Take My Eyes Off You in the past few months. So when they set up a method of allowing the fans to vote for the songs they'd most like to see, give the impression that at least one will be part of the set, then can't even be bothered to play a couple of old staples like CE and Bliss, you've got to wonder what they're playing at.

+1

Tbh the stage and the show isn't the main thing that i personally would go to see muse for. I'd go for the music and when it's taken as read that they're going to try to play some songs that people have voted for, cba as an excuse (presuming there isn't a real one in which case ignore me) just doesn't cut it. Schoolchildren wouldn't get away with using cba as an excuse so why should muse when people pay quite a lot of money to come see them. My arguments probably flawed but i've given up caring.

We are trying to figure this out. "TECHNICAL PROBLEMS" seem to be the favourite excuse of the die-hards.

we've also heard that it had to do with them being rusty.... the fact that they played both songs a week ago notwithstanding...

MUSE please come to the Arizona again soon

wat?

It's really not though. Twilight is a crazy fad here in America and sure it's done a lot for Muse but I would hardly think it's "changed" them as a band.

You're just stating problems with new fans. It hasn't effected the band in my eyes. To think a film would effect the band is a bit silly. It's just a better way for them to reach an audience. If you hate the film fair enough (and I do think it's shit) but blaming their ties with Twilight for a shitty setlist? I don't buy it.

Why is everybody so angry on behalf of the people who actually attended this gig? Shouldn't we wait and find out if they actually had a terrible time or not? The same happened on the Casino de Paris thread. People who weren't there said it was a disgrace, those who were there said it was awesome.

The results of the poll have been out ages, giving them PLENTY of time to practise songs THAT THEY ALREADY KNOW HOW TO PLAY!!!!!!!!!!

BUT THEY MIGHT STILL BE RUSTY AND HAVEN'T YOU EVER THOUGHT OF A TECHNICAL PROBLEM?!???!?!?!?!
