One question, In Manchester, noobs and casuals left the venue before the encore like in first night in Wembley?

I saw quite a few people leaving, yes. I'm not sure how many left at Wembley but it sounds like more people left there from what I've heard.

What a shame!! In the Resistance Photo Book intro, Manchester, San Siro and Wembley are mentioned like the best gigs of the tour. Those crowds are very lucky people, and some fools left the venue! I only saw one date of the Resistance Tour, in a festival, so no longer setlist and no pyramid. Could be great the release of one of those gigs.

I know a physical release is impossible, but, how about a digital download of Brisbane 6th, 2010?

Most awesome gig with the towers, and the better setlist of the entire tour.

1.Exogenesis: Symphony Part I (Overture)

2.Uprising

3.Knights of Cydonia

4.Resistance

5.Supermassive Black Hole

6.MK Ultra

7.Butterflies & Hurricanes

8.Nishe

9.United States of Eurasia

10.Sunburn

11.Helsinki Jam

12.Undisclosed Desires

13.House of the Rising Sun riff + Time Is Running Out

14.Interlude + Hysteria + Back in Black riff

15.Starlight

16.Bliss (extended)

Encore

17.Citizen Erased

18.Plug In Baby

19.Take a Bow

What do you think?

No chance.

They had sounds issues from the start and had a 2min gap of silence between Exo and Uprising so they could fix Matt's in-ear monitors. Also TaB wasn't the best as mentioned before.

Manchester would actually be a really great dvd. There's all the regular songs in there for the casuals and a few rarer tracks for the hardcore fans. The band really were on form that night too.

I would really love a Manchester DVD. One of the best gigs of the tour and it allows them to avoid making another Wembley recording.

I'd be fine with San Siro too, but I think I'd prefer LCCC

San Siro had a not-so-great setlist :(

However I think that, if they release something from the tour, it won't be a single gig dvd, but many performances mixed.

So if there was a DVD or a series of digital releases, what would you lot want/expect to see?

Personally:

Starlight - San Siro 2010

Hyper Music - Leeds Festival 2011

Take A Bow or Butterflies & Hurricanes - LCCC 2010

I Belong To You - Casino De Paris 2010

Cave - A Seaside Rendezvous 2009

Dark Shines - Reading Festival 2011

But just see the Liam's documentary, and the San Siro's part give goosebumps again, all those positive musey energy...

But i agree, the setlist of Manchester, Paris and Wembley are great, so is hard to choose only ona date.

Good idea.

I'll probably edit this post as soon as other performances come to my mind

New Born, Bliss, Space Dementia, Darkshines, Megalomania - Reading 2011

Take a Bow - Wembley 2010

Butterflies and Hurricanes - LA Rising 2011

Cave, Popcorn - Teignmouth 2009

Citizen Erased - LCCC 2010

MK Ultra - Bologna 2009

I Belong To You - Casino de Paris 2010

Knights Of Cydonia - Fuji Rock Festival 2010

edit:

Man, I've seen an insane amount of live videos of that gig, more than the others (since I was going to be there but couldn't, at the last minute), and I agree with you. The crowd at San Siro was maybe the best of the entire tour, even if the setlist wasn't full of rarities and Matt's voice wasn't perfect.

I feel like a compilation of songs would be more of an Absolution Tour styled release, where there's different performances of all the songs. A lot of the lists seem to be lacking of Resistance songs, which is where a DVD/digital release would be leaning towards.

I would've included more songs from The Resistance on mine but I feel like we've got enough pro-shots of quite a few of them already. Same reason for not including anything from Wembley, we've already got Uprising and Citizen Erased.

Well Glastonbury was broadcasted on TV but the band still decided to put that on the Absolution Tour DVD (with 2 songs cut might I add) instead of Earl's Court.

There's still performances of songs that would probably get proshots. Even if there are recordings of some songs out I wouldn't mind seeing professional recordings of shows like Manchester, Budokan, and San Siro.

My list was more based off the idea of a digital release similar to 'Join The Resistance (should've said I suppose). Anyway, with that they had unseen pro-shots of songs that fans would really want to see (Assassin, Stockholm etc). I doubt many people would be fussed at any more pro-shots of Resistance and Uprising :p

Well of course an official DVD release would have the big singles too. But yes a 6th album build up set of released would probably have IBTY and the more rarer ones. As well as maybe some CE, R&L, and such.

  • 3 months later...

As i understand it on the whole resistance tour DVD front, Dom said the other week at the studios apparantly they'd failed to get the rights to the BBC's reading footage so couldnt release it, as that was going to be the base of the resistance tour DVD with some extras from the stadiums.

Shouldn't there be a plan B though? I mean they have enough material, couldn't they just have picked another gig?

Seems like a weird thing to fall on.

Ah, so they were planning on making a DVD then?

I'm not sure I understand though, if they aren't allowed to get the rights to the footage from the BBC then how come they were allowed to choose what was broadcast? Anyway, I'm hoping they'll release at least some of those extras as a follow up to the new album.

you'd think so yeah.

I know they'd had some stadium footage mixed all ready for a DVD release, so that will probably show up in the lead up to the new album in the style of "join the resistance".

Id of loved a bluray of one of the stadium gigs, but theres always next tour :)

I think they lost the pedal they use to make DVDs.

Because it's a different thing, y'know.

Dom revealed at the same time the BBC chose what songs were broadcast, so all that stuff about Muse not wanting Oos shown was apparantly bull.
