Black Holes is my favourite album.

Good things: There isn't a single song here I don't love. The music is experimental and jumps around in terms of mood, but there is a common theme which connects each song. I think it flows really well for the most part, though some people might disagree. Also, the concept art is brilliant and fits the album really well.

Bad things: Some bad production choices here and there. The sudden transitions to Soldier's Poem and Assassin are a little jarring.

Favourite song: City of Delusion.

Least favourite song: Invincible, though it's still a great song.

Favourite moment from each song:

- Take a Bow: The heavy guitar towards the end.

- Starlight: Arpeggio synths.

- Supermassive Black Hole: The "screaming."

- Map of the Problematique: The octave jump (?) in the chords.

- Soldier's Poem: The backing vocals in the second verse which ascend and then descend chromatically.

- Invincible: The guitar solo.

- Assassin: The cascading barbershop harmonies.

- Exo-Politics: The chorus harmonies.

- City of Delusion: The string solos and trumpet.

- Hoodoo: The lyric, "I've had recurring nightmares that I was loved for who I am, and missed the opportunity to be a better man."

- Knights of Cydonia: The ending harmonies. Those trumpets aren't far behind, either.

My favorite album, incredibly underrated. It has three weak points but every other song is as great if not better than any other song Muse have made

Good things:

Last three tracks (City of Delusion, Hoodoo and Knights of Cydonia) are the strongest last three tracks of any album

Map of the Problematique is one of the best songs they've ever written

This album has reached the perfect balance between good in studio and good live

Hoodoo (especially the live piano version) is absolutely brilliant

I could go on and on but those are the main things

Bad things:

Assassin would be so much better if the GOB edit had been on the album

Exo-Politics is rather weak asside from the guitar solo

Soldier's Poem is only alright

Favorite moments:

Guitar solo in Invincible

"Tied to a railroad" in Hoodoo

Bass "solo" in City of Delusion

Transition from Starlight to Supermassive Black Hole

Glorious, even though it's a bonus track, is one of the 15 best songs Muse have ever made

Pretty much the whole album

Take a Bow-9/10

Starlight-10/10

Supermassive Black Hole-9/10

Map of the Problematique-10/10

Soldier's Poem-7/10

Invincible-9/10

Assassin-6.5/10

Exo-Politics-6/10

City of Delusion-10/10

Hoodoo-10/10

Knights of Cydonia-10/10

Glorious-10/10

5 Stars! Probably my second favorite Muse album, after OOS.

Good things:

It's just a brilliant album.

Bad things:

Not feelin' the SMBH solo.

Favorite:

MotP, Soldier's Poem, Take a Bow, Knights

Least:

Exo-Politics

Best moments:

Beginning of Starlight, SMBH puts me in a REALLY good mood, the vocals/lyrics on Soldier's Poem, Assassin drums, ALL of MotP, final chorus of Invincible(so intense!), at 1:57 on City of Delusion, that part is sick , all of Take a Bow, Knights drums, and "How can we win, when fools can be kings? Don't waste your time or time will waste you."

I give it 5/5 because it has MotP on it and this is the song that really got me into Muse :) I already had a couple of songs from Absolution&Showbiz, but then I bought Black Holes and Revelations and since the first time I heard MotP I'm completely in love :D So though I really, really love all of their albums(especially OoS :)) BHaR remains my favourite album.

Best Tracks: MotP, Hoodoo, Glorious

Worst Tracks: Soldier's Poem, Take a Bow (not because I don't like them, I just don't have the desire to listen to them as often as to the others)

Favourite Moments: the intro to Knights of Cydonia&the footsteps -or whatever it is-at the beginning of Invincible oh and of course "Dont waste your time or time will waste you". Absolutely brilliant.

Take A Bow: 9 / 10

Starlight: 7.5 / 10

SMBH: 6.5 / 10

MOTP: 10 / 10

Soldier's Poem: 3 / 10

Invincible: 7 / 10

Assassin: 6 / 10

Exo-Politcs: 6.5 / 10

City of Delusion: 9 / 10

Hoodoo: 9.5 / 10

Knights: 9 / 10

BHAR is actually my least favourite Muse album, I can never listen to it from start to finish. The middle section just drags and I've always felt like some of the songs just needed an extra..."something"...! Not sure what, just something! And Soldier's Poem is my least favourite Muse song, I cannot stand it.

In saying that, when it's good, it's so so good. Map is close to perfection, Knights is epic, I absolutely adore City of Delusion, and Hoodoo is hauntingly brilliant.

Edit: Just wanted to add that it goes up a bit in my estimation because it produced one of the most amazing B-sides of all time; Glorious = 9 / 10!

Take A Bow - Used to adore it, but have kinda grown tired of it. Still a good song. 7/10

Starlight - Sometimes it works, sometimes it's horrible. 6/10

Supermassive Black Hole - Their best pop song ever. 9/10

Map of The Problematique - See Take A Bow. 8/10

Soldiers Poem - Wrong place on the album, not that great. 6/10

Invincible - Good song, Seems great live. The pat after the solo is intense. 7/10

Assassin - Butchered. 7/10

Exo-Politics - Boring, lame and butchered. But it has its highlights. 6/10

City of Delusion - One of my favorite Muse songs, brilliant. 10/10

Hoodoo - I really have to be in the mood for this one. But when I am, it's amazing. 9/10

Knights of Cydonia - Only the bad production brings this down. 8/10
