salanderson Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 This page has only just been updated and nothing about Muse yet. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8373813.stm I do think it's inevitable though. I must be strong and cancel NOW! Dude, speaking as someone who lives in shoreham, not far from you. I strongly advise you NOT to cancel your ticket. You'll never regret it.
Josefine Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I won't believe it until it's officially announced by the Glasto organisers in the meantime I'll keep my fingers crossed. Same here. Official announcement, or gtfo That said, I'm going anyway
Pip Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Dude, speaking as someone who lives in shoreham, not far from you. I strongly advise you NOT to cancel your ticket. You'll never regret it. I simply can't afford to do Muse AND Glasto though, Muse take priority for me personally. There will be other years for Glasto and I HATE U2! P.S You say you live in Shoreham...just wondering if you went to Teignmouth??

(And then 2 hours of walking to the campsite haha) Was well worth it though. Have you ever done Glasto before?
Pip Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Yeah! Shoreham by sea to Teingmouth! (And then 2 hours of walking to the campsite haha) Was well worth it though. Have you ever done Glasto before? Did you happen to go to the Dogs Trust wearing a Seaside Rendezvous tee? no, never been to Glasto;)
salanderson Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Did you happen to go to the Dogs Trust wearing a Seaside Rendezvous tee? no, never been to Glasto;) Nope fraid not, although I do know who that was Seriously, I really think you should come to Glastonbury... You don't care about U2? There's at least 100 other acts on at the same time. And I reckon muse are still actually nailed on for sunday...

My daughter works there and she told me a man came to the kennels wearing a SR tee so I thought it may have been you! But I'm going to both Wembley dates and also want to go to the Paris stadium gig too and I can't afford to do those and Glasto! Muse will most probably play Glasto I know but they will play a longer set at the stadium gigs.

I'm not very good at persuasion but they will make you see. ... You'd be a fool!

You'd be a fool! Nope, my mind is made up! It's not that I don't want to go to Glastonbury, just I want to go to Paris with Laure and all the others to see muse in their own right even more than I want to go to Glasto!
salanderson Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009  Nope, my mind is made up! It's not that I don't want to go to Glastonbury, just I want to go to Paris with Laure and all the others to see muse in their own right even more than I want to go to Glasto! 1 sec
a6l6e6x Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 last year i didnt like any of the bands at glastonbury and even if muse did headline i doubt there would be enough bands there for me to pay £200 or whatever it is nowadays
salanderson Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Go ahead! I'll make a thread saying "i'm thinking of refunding my ticket" but I'm not going to do it tomorrow because it will just fill up with stupid "in jokes" about U2 etc etc
L. Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009  Nope, my mind is made up! It's not that I don't want to go to Glastonbury, just I want to go to Paris with Laure and all the others to see muse in their own right even more than I want to go to Glasto! Whatever you decide Pip we'll get to see you. btw I might have sorted out accommodation for Paris... I'll keep you informed
Pip Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I'll make a thread saying "i'm thinking of refunding my ticket" but I'm not going to do it tomorrow because it will just fill up with stupid "in jokes" about U2 etc etc Ok but I can already predict the content of most of the replies in the thread! They will all read along these lines.... OMG you total n00b! There ARE other bands around apart from Muse you know! How right they are too! However, I want to see Muse playing as many of their own gigs as possible. In an ideal world I'd do Glasto and Paris but I can't. Paris will cost me approx. £200 all-in. Glasto ticket alone will cost me almost that much then I'd have to add the cost of tent/other equipment, food, drink, fuel and other costs. It will cost me at least £400 and I can't justify it now I'm going to both Wembley dates and want to go to Paris. I'd be with forum friends whichever I want to so that's not an issue. The cost alone makes this a no-brainer and my decision is made! I appreciate and respect what you're saying but I know what I'm doing and am going to cancel
Pip Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Whatever you decide Pip we'll get to see you. btw I might have sorted out accommodation for Paris... I'll keep you informed Oh excellent Laure! Thanks! I'm almost certain I can do this (will know first thing in the morning when I check my bank balane) except for one stumbling block, I can only use a debit card, not a credit card. Am I right in thinking I can only book with a credit card? If so I'll have to buy from musebay if one comes up there.
Lizzie_loves_Muse Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 This hasn't been confirmed as of yet. The only bands that have been confirmed by the Eavis' are the John E Vistic Experience and U2. It's reasonably likely Muse will be there though Also, Pip, I know you have made up your mind, but you have until February 28th, so you could wait until nearer that time before you cancel, just in case you get enough cash. Also, you may regret it at some point But I have to say.. Muse in La Paris = PHWOAR! :D Me and my mum are hoping that there will still be tickets available in couple of months because we've just spent so much that we can't currently afford it! Fingers crossed!

That's fair enough. I doubt very much I'll be going to Paris. How about you tell me how epic Paris was while I mourn, and I'll tell you how amazing Glasto was?

trogette Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 what you need to do is find a job at Glasto...
salanderson Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 what you need to do is find a job at Glasto... and risk getting your shift over muses slot. Good idea.
Billy_ Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I really don't like what Glastonbury has become nowadays. I'm much more happy about attending Download festival next year, a proper music festival IMO. Muse would be better to play somewhere like Sonisphere, although it seems to be more about the £££ these days
