What I love about Microcuts is that for a relatively short song, there are many interesting moments and musical choices.

 

- I love that Matt's voice has not been made easily decipherable when spouting the lyrics; it emphasises the way he uses his voice as an instrument/tool over what he's saying in that sense.

- I love the background sounds/noise that crosses over from the end of Citizen Erased.

- The heavy, punctuated bass line that sort of 'stabs' alongside the guitar arpeggios; the contrast of flowing arpeggios with this punctuation really works well.

- The instrumental part after the second chorus until the final riff.

 

...and all in the space of 3.5 minutes.

 

I could go on and on...:)

I can't decide on just one song on this album - probably the only album that doesn't have just one standout for me - if I had to list it it'd probably look something like this though

Megalomania

Citizen Erased

Micro Cuts

Screenager

New Born

Hyper Music

Plug In Baby

Bliss (I love it live with the falsetto but it lacks on the album for me)

Space Dementia

The top four for me all move around constantly but I think hyper music is just about my favourite :D

Okay This is difficult since it's my favourite album and I give half the tracks 10/10, I actually like Feeling Good even though it's in last place.
