Problemfanatique Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Yes another 'vs.' thread. These are both undoubtedly the two 'rock' songs off the album so which one do you prefer? Personally I prefer MK Ultra.
Russell_A Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Yes another 'vs.' thread. These are both undoubtedly the two 'rock' songs off the album so which one do you prefer? Personally I prefer MK Ultra. Poll Plz Unnatural Selection for me!
graciegirl Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 MK Ultra is amazin'. I love the way Unnatural Selection rocks out at the end but MK Ultra has the best bassline and gives me goosebumps:awesome:
Carbo Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 MK Ultra. As said in the other topic, it's like The Resistance's answer to Stockholm Syndrome. It's dark, grim, paranoid and rifftastic. I'm hoping to see this live as a set closer with a bunchload of riffs. It also has the most unique guitar sound that the band has done to date, almost has a videogame-esque sound to it. Unnatural Selection is really great. It's jammy, riffy and I love the lyrics. But imo it's the most "b-side esque" track on the album. Not that it's a bad thing ofcourse. It's probably cause in terms of what Muse do rock-wise, it's not as complex as most of their other songs.
Furygirl Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Tough call, but I lean a bit toward MK Ultra. I think I knew even from the 30 sec. clip it would end up being my fave.
Frankie90 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I'm going to have to go with Unnatural Selection. It's definitely not an easy choice though.....
Obi Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Same as f96pt. Maybe US tips it but then when I listen to MK I think the opposite.
Problemfanatique Posted September 19, 2009 Author Posted September 19, 2009 Guiding Light ur leik doin it wrong
Triss Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 MK Ultra. US is great and riff-tacular, but for some reason it feels a little disjointed and unwieldy to me as a piece of music, whereas MK Ultra is just perfectly put together and has that amazing riff/videogame theme/whatever you want to call it that refuses to leave me alone. Also, the 'they're breaking through' interlude is just spine-tinglingly awesome.
Satin Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 MK Ultra all th way tho the chorus in US is great
abomufc108 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Mk Ultra just because it don't the Greendayish "hey" "hey" love both tho
Hopix Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Dammit with these incredibly tough polls, I'll have to go with both.
Hopix Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 actually yeah right now I'm preferring US. middle section reminds me of good old Showbiz/OoS stuff.
The Dying~Atheist Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Unnatural Selection is a great track but MK Ultra is the dogs bollocks.
Blaz Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 MK Ultra. Unnatural Selection's a good song, but it sounds like it's the recycled remains of something. . .
Hopix Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 MK Ultra. Unnatural Selection's a good song, but it sounds like it's the recycled remains of something. . . New Born? CE? Stockholm Syndrome? Megalomania?
Billy_ Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I'd have to say Unnatural Selection at the moment. Although to be honest, I could play MK Ultra over and over again, whereas Unnatural Selection I couldn't. Not sure why... Maybe it's because the breakdown seems a tad too long sometimes? Wheras MK Ultra is almost perfectly paced.
