What makes a Muse fan.......a Muse fan?

You've got to love more than SMBH, UD and Uprising. That's it.

Might want to add "I Belong To You" and "Neutron Star Collision" to that list. I've seen some fakers who've said they love Muse and that they're their "biggest fans", but have only heard the songs from Twilight. *sigh*

I'm not really sure what makes a Muse fan a Muse fan... or a TRUE Muse fan. I guess, for me, I know I'm such a big fan because I've stuck with them for three years. I get easily obsessed with things, but am quick to fall out of love with them. Muse is what I've been hooked on for years. Muse is what inspired me to start playing the piano. And though I've yet to see them live yet, I've made a promise to myself to save my concert virginity for them. :p So, yeah... *shrugs* That's what I think.

I agree with pretty much all the reasons given before, just general crazy obsessiveness makes us muse fans. :D .

I've only been a pwopa obsessive muse fan for a few months now, but I've listen to everything (I think/hope) . I knew some Muse songs before but never really knew who they were. I think it was my friend Deven who told me when TIRO was on her iPod and I was like "OMG! I know this ,who are they?!" , then she told me about The resistance Album. My fandom has grown from there. The Sing for absolution video relieved my boredom at my friends birthday (Sorry Jack) .I over took my Deven's fandom (a moderate fan) but now she's a muser too! :fear:

veteran or not, all Muse fans are equal =P

Can't really say that I agree with you. It's not that I'm condoning the people who 'got into' Muse recently ( i.e. a year or a few months ago), but that certain bunch of mainstream-influenced fakers who claim to be obssessively interested in a band of whom they don't even know the back-catalogue of. In my opinion, a real Muser is someone who discovered this most awesome of bands on their own. Not just because of some retarded movie franchise about a bunch of ickle vegetarian vampires who twinkle in sunlight.:vomit:

Please, give me a break.

And to put the record straight, I am not claiming to be the authority on all things regarding Muse. Sure, I really love the band. Sure, I've been a Muser for four years. Sure, I am excessively obssessed about all things Muse. I have been known to furiously debate against anyone who dares to criticise them. I became a Muser out of my own volition, and I am not going to let anyone, even Stephenie Meyer's rapidly spreading army of rabid Twilighters, take that way from me.

I don't get you.

I became a muse fan through twilight, and I've been a fan for almost two years, does that mean that I'm not a fan because I got into them through a movie?

NO.

I don't think that there are fans on muse board who know nothing about muse and the only song they know is smbh.Trust me I am a the same fan like you are,I have all the CD's,I've been on the board for almost a year,I too get pissy if someone insults them.

The only difference is that I became a fan through a movie.I don't have Mtv so there's no way I could have found out about them through tv or radio or online to be honest.I don't think that being a twilight fan makes me a bad fan.I live in Bosnia & Herzegowina and you do not want to know what kind of music industry we have in here.Nobody listenes to rock and there's no way I could have become a fan on my own.

I totally agree with you! Sure, it's annoying when people pretend to love Muse when they have only heard 1 song, but some people earn their status as a Muser and truly deserve it! People on this thread need to learn not to be judgemental about people who have found Muse through a movie franchise! and i love the twilight saga, it's interesting and i found out about Muse before it. Some of you 'fans' need to realise ALL fans are equal. :)

A Muse fan loves OoS and hates BH&R onwards.

A Muse fan may like Oos and hate BH&R onwards but a real fan who loves whatever they have been making (until it gets to the point of insanity) will like BH&R and TR too, they may not be their favourite albums but don't hate them. I like BH&R and most of the Resistance.

BE OPEN-MINDED, MUSE ISN'T GETTING BAD, THEY'RE JUST CHANGING THEIR SYLE LIKE THEY DO WITH ALL OF THE ALBUMS! IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, JUST LIKE TO WHAT YOU DO LIKE AND LIKE THAT INSTEAD OF YELLING ABOUT WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE!!!!

Well this is a Muse discussion board, so there will be conflicting opinions always.

But it is really worth replying to a possibly sarcastic post from 2 years ago?

I've noticed the unique 'hard-coreness' of Muse fans before as well.

It's not every band that has their own fan-created wiki or manages to crash their website and forums when a 30 second clip of a new song is released. Not many official forums have 45 threads and counting of 'pornogenic' pictures of the lead singer either. We might not always like all their songs but our dedication is unmatched

And completely off their faces. :awesome:

Of course. Real fans can't dislike any of their past songs. That would make them disloyal.

Well,I love Muse mostly because of what they make me feel;because really good music is about that, feeling.I could not describe it using words,Muse music is just part of my everyday life.Every song of them reminds me of fragment of my being;my way of thinking for instance.

And I have done silly and childish things to prove they are far better than other groups or artists.;):$:D

This. You don't have to have been a fan since the Showbiz/Origin era to be a true fan, nor do you have to attend a certain number of gigs. You don't need to know every single little detail about the bandmembers and you don't need 20+ bootlegs to prove you're a Muse fan. However you can't tell everyone you're a huge fan if you only know the songs that are always played on the radio, you have to actually delve into their back catalogue and like the majority of it.
