Kuje
I'm still not sure if it's Popcorn the cover or their b-side or something... I wasnt actually there so im expecting at least a video or something to know how it sounded like. It's always amazing to see muse do covers that always appear awesome. Especially if we're talking about that old popcorn song, wow. I feel so weird cuz i have no idea what's it about =D i just know it was on the list. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Icz96lFdQHg I think it sounds really freaking cool. I could handle this being a b-side.

potticus
It's not uncommon for rock bands to get bored and cover Britney spears etc. Everyone must check out the Children of Bodom version of Oops I Did It Again. Genius And also on youtube there's Silent Descent's cover of Blue by Eiffel 65. Sounds bonkers.

Genius And also on youtube there's Silent Descent's cover of Blue by Eiffel 65. Sounds bonkers. Ooh, ooh, and the Britney Spears cover of Baby One More Time by August Burns Red, and the Toxic cover by a couple dozen other bands! Just go buy Punk Goes Poop or something, you'll get your fix. Some metal band did a cover of SMBH as well IIRC. Some bands just shouldn't do covers. Even Muse can't pull them off every time. PPPLMGWIW anyone? Interzone
It was unexpected to hear Muse play this at The Den, but it sounded great! Had a sort of Nu-Rave sound to it I felt.

Davinq
Oh! I know what it reminded me of! Ash's cover of the Star Wars cantina band music. Now that was sexy.
MUSEologist
Ooh, the sound quality of this! *wants mp3* I was chuckling all through that. I've always loved the tune since I was a kid. Definitely worthy of a studio recording or even just an official live recording! Popcorn (by Gershon Kingsley, then Hot Butter) is often thought of as being composed by Jean Michel Jarre. He did do a version though, before he became famous.

mkb07a
I found the video of Popcorn last night on YouTube and listened to it... well, a lot. It just made me grin like a fool. It's fun. It's pure, unleaded, shiny fun. And it makes me smile.

popcorn-song
I'm going to shamelessly plug my site here: http://www.popcorn-song.com I've linked to a video from the French TV show Taratata, where they played Popcorn. Here's the URL for it: http://www.mytaratata.com/Pages/VIDEO_page_video.aspx?sig=iLyROoafI9_- As a connaisseur of the original popcorn song, I have to say they are very true to the original. I love these unexpected cover versions of the song. I'll be hoping for a b-side for their new single
Mechagodzilla
OMG I loved popcorn at Teignmouth! I even have their cover on my iPod! Apparently they covered it because it reminded Matt of a roller-disco he used to go to!

darkfury
I think it is a fab cover. It reminds me of when I was little as Popcorn was the theme tune for Patrick's Pantry on Anglia TV. Definitely a blast from the past for me.
jellycandy
Yeah I abolutely love it! This song has some magic - everytime I listen to it, it stucks in my head for the rest of day. And it would be really cool if they released Popcorn as b-side or whatever.
