Surprisingly, it's still growing on me, a lot.

The middle verses are beautifully done . The swelling strings, heavy, pounding, New Born-esque bass, tinkling piano and solid drumming - all sound fantastic and uncluttered, something that was so lacking in the muddy dirge of BH&R.

god thats almost pornographic the way you described it :eyebrows:

I'm a bad Muse fan. Been so busy at work and other things for the last few months that I didn't even know they had 2 songs out in the public domain from the new album until I heard something mentioned on Radio 1 whilst driving the car.

So logged onto Youtube yesterday and listened to Uprising. Not bad at all, more of the techno vibe we got off them in BH&R but still recognisably MUSE. As mentioned, there's also echoes of Dr Who in there. Good, I like it, 7/10.

Then I put on United State of Eurasia. Holy s**t!!!!!

I LOVE this song. Grew up loving Queen and have all their albums, and somehow the whole epic Queen sound and feel suits Muse to a tee. Laughed at the reference to 'There can be only one'. Matt's voice sounds superb also, very powerful and a lot easier to hear (more clarity) than earlier Muse songs where the instruments sometimes took over. This song somehows seems to project better production values despite the fact they're producing the new album themselves.

Yes it's quite different to some of Muse's earlier stuff, but then they've never been a band you can pigeonhole. They might have started out with heavy guitar and some fans miss that, but the Muse we know are a band who will happily experiment with techno, pianos, orchestras, whatever. The important thing is - they always retain that unique MUSE sound, and that's what we fans love.

Superb :D

I'm still loving the Eura-SIA part myself. Though I recall it disapointed quite a few people when we first heard it lol.

Yeah that part really made me go :wtf: the first few times. Then I just started to laugh. Now I love singing that part really loud. :D

But the TO DUST part is probably my least fave. It's sounds too much like someone trying to fake-sing musical theater or something. But again, I just laugh. It's all you can do. Kinda like how I laugh at the guitar solo in Invincible. Sorry, OT...

Oh, I used to hate it, I just thought it was ridiculous. No, I didn't understand the necessity to be united with the Asian landmass. And the "SIA SIA SIA" part just made me go :eek::stunned:

But now I really enjoy the live versions, it's bearable live and sometimes I almost like it. A weird song.

Same with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", I've always hated the "Mamma mia" part.
