If you don't like the resistance, you don't like muse...

It's the first album they've done with no input from producers etc, and so for the first time it is 100% their own work, not just 70% or 80% or even 90%. For the first time, this is them, pure and raw doing exactly what they want to, how they want to.

Well that's a little bit of a false dilemma. We haven't heard the whole album yet!

We don't have to like everything they do there might be other songs on the album that lots of people will like, even old school Muse fans.

But I think USoE is leading into a story. When you think of it in that way it is quite exciting.

Check the pole...23 lonely people who expected Eurasia to be something dull that has been done before. Muse have come out with something new, sure the falsetto vocal harmony was signature of murcury, but the song is still original, and awesome...besides I was worried Muse were gona do a whole disco-tec thing, leaving their rock influence behind like they were proposing last year.

VIVA LA RESISTANCE

DONT ACTIVATE NEW YORK

hey this has probably been done before but I cbf reading through all the posts.....

The USoE we are hearing is a dud and the real version has these lyrics:

I went down to the beach and saw Muse

They was, like, all "ehhhh"

And I was, like, "yeah, whatever!"

Then this chick comes up to me and she's all, like,

"Hey, aren't you that large landmass covering about 53,990,000 km2?"

And I'm, like, "yeah, whatever!"

So later I'm at the muse meet

And this girl comes up

And she's, like, "awww"

And I'm, like, "yeah, whatever!"

Cuz this is my

United States of Eurasia!

And this is my

United States of Eurasia!

And this is my

United States of Eurasia!

And then it's three A.M.

And I'm on the corner, wearing my leather

Then Dom comes up and he's, like, "hey, Resist!"

I'm, like, "yeah, whatever!"

Then I'm throwing dice in the alley

Officer Bellamy comes up and is, like,

"Hey, I thought I told you to activate..."

And I'm, like, "yeah, whatever!"

And then up comes Chris

I'm, like, "yo, Chris. What's up?"

He's, like, "nothin'"

And I'm, like, "that's cool."

Cuz this is my

United States of Eurasia!

And this is my

United States of Eurasia!

C'mon, that's just stupid.

I would think any band benefits from an outside producer. Without an outsider it easily gets to the point of ridiculous wankery as there is no one to tell "sorry, that just doesn't work". It's not like everything the guys do is perfect: some of it is pure rubbish, plain and simple. They are just humans, after all.

Also, bands tend to evolve- making an album like this wasn't probably what was on their minds when they were recording, say, OOS. We're free to dislike the newest development in their style.

+1. It's amusing and kitsch, and it sounds to me like a self-parody.

Hmm, I referred to this as a Queen parody. I wonder which is better, the song being

a)a self-parody

b)a Queen parody?

The answer would probably be

c)neither...

This ! And this would be a concept album as the warming up (I mean the treasure hunt:D) already suggests it.

I just listened to it for the first time.

And the ending definitely made me giggle. It sounded way too silly.

But then i listened to it again. And i love it.

Im sure everyone had the same reaction when they first listened to it, but the thing is, if everyone dismissed a song just because the first time they heard wasn't appealing... then no one would really like muse. imho.

EXACTLY!!!!!
