The riff is basically the same, but in a different key, that's a bit more than influenced...

Also, Vimanas' verse rhythm reminded me of Trumpet Or Tap by Biffy a bit but that could just be me. Same as Kueller though, not bad!

edit: I like Two Suns, slightly weird ethereal feel to it. Tune dat guitar though

Haha, I don't know that Biffy song, so that was maybe just coincidence. However Montreal was totally Arctic, altough the riff is not exactly the same, different key and the second part is lil bit different.

Thanks, yeah since I got that guitar tone like on Two Suns, I tend to use it in most songs. It has a nice sound.

I just finished a Prog rock influenced song. I always wanted to create a song like this style. Altough it's not Drop D, I actually preferred the Standard tuning for the main riff, sounded better. Still feels like a prog rock song imo. Here it is:

some sort of random conglomerates of vintagesque genres. lol idk. 14 minutes of random. how many musics can you identify?

Haven't listened to the whole thing but skipped around a bit. So strange hearing that piano loop at the start without it being followed by the rest of Endtroducing . Heard a bit of Kavinsky in there too which I like very much. The whole thing gets a bit baggy in the middle but it's pretty cool.

mmm... if you're thinking 'nishe' wise, I think it could work as an interlude. Just needs good phrasing with drums/bass if you mean to do it in a full band setting.

Yeah. The drums were just intended as a temporary thing, thought acoustic taps would sound better than a Kaossilator preset :chuckle: I thought the little reverb slapbacks from it were kinda cool though.

I can imagine it done as a full band in my head so I guess that's a positive, if I want to play it in a live setting...

I found a really interesting guitar tone (with freakin lots of reverb) and the result is this noise rock song. I could say it might have been inspired by A Place To Bury Strangers. What do you guys think? I might be heading this noisey direction now.

Rock On,

Natural Stranger :D

This is really cool. Pretty well mixed, tight too. Only thing that can sometimes be a bit off key to my ears is the vocals, but not much at all, I like the dude's voice! Good stuff.

i'm about to leave these guys for a couple of years to go travel/study, but it's worth checking out my band alchemy. dirty, (we think) sexy rock'n'roll music: http://www.facebook.com/alchemymelbourne, http://www.soundcloud.com/alchemymelbourne.

we've got an album coming out (getting mixed at the moment), which should be pretty excellent
