You're probably with me on this, then. It was something that we discovered and told our friends about, and it was sort of a little thing between us. Then the whole thing just freaking exploded overnight, it seemed. It stopped being fun quite some time ago.

Well, I'm not a teenager, but I know how annoying that must be. When I turned 20 the thing I actually saw as positive was that nobody could do the whole "but you're a teenager"-thing. Haha...

But really, things that gets hyped as much as Twilight has and keeps on being, they don't root themselves as deeply in one as other things, because - like you said - it's just superficial, and then it dies down.

Totally with you, there. ^___^ And got annoyed because the verses had been mixed, which is not the way the edit goes.

ah yes, i'm a 14 year old girl too, and i've read the books. i admit, i might have tolerated and even loved the series if it wasnt so blown up like that. it just made me annoyed and start picking up on all the horrible bits of twilight.

oh did they remix the verse? didnt watch new moon. only watched twilight so that my and my friend could wear twatlight hater tshirts and throw popcorn at the twihards

 that's amazing. yea now I can't look at Twilight without thinking about all the bad aspects of it.........the only thing I will defend it on is the author. I hate when people insult her personally for being a bad writer, because she didn't write the books for anyone, nor did she intend for them to become so insanely popular. poor lady lives under a rock now :(

Ha, I went with some friends (the one sitting next to me shares the same views as me - twilight isn't that great but isn't bad, whearas muse are gods whom we liked BEFORE all this Cullen related madness) and we embarrased all our friends by singing IBTY at the top of our voices.) A lady was angered by this and gave us stern words at the end, which I didn't help with because I wasn't listening and accidentally went 'what's she saying??' really loudly. She hated me for that

but yeah, the soundtrack was great

I'll be honest, I loved Twilight when I first read it two years ago. I'm a big fan of vampire-related literature and movies and whatnot, and saw it as a new step in the history of that. That was before everyhing became so bloody huge. I don't find it fun anymore now that everyone and their grandmother has read the books and seen the movies. Now, I was never a shrieking fangirl in the first place, I liked the books for what they were, without all the hype around it.

Also, I got into Muse about a year and a half ago, so after Twilight, but before the movie, so I had no idea they were going to be on the soundtrack. That may be a bit procrastinating, but the truth. And I'm of the generation where during the snug little parties that the kids then held - mainly to gawk at individuals of the opposite sex (which took up an amazing amount of time back when we were, like, 11 o_O) and hope to have a dance - one of the songs that was stuck on repeat was Unintended. So, technically, as my friend put it a while back, we've been fans subconciously for ages. ;P But really, I was well pissed that my classmates would otherwise only listen to bloody Westlife. *shakes head*

Anyway, I have a friend who's a big fan, and she would always be listening to them. Gosh, I remember one of our trips to the capital, where we accidentally drove off in the wrong direction on the highway twice, and we'd go "Roadtrip!!" and just blast TIRO as loud a possible. That became a tradition after that. XD [/reminising bitch]

I went to a premiere of New Moon last week, and I went in costume as a Volturi (because they're badass, no matter what) and really, most of the other fans didn't get it, apparently. It was all screaming and swooning over Edward/Robert and to me, Twilight thus -to me- lost all of the magic it had left. In the end, apart from being with friends I hardly see nowadays, the bright spot of the evening really was those 15 seconds of I Belong To You, which was the only part of the movie I actually cheered at.

I don't really know how this makes me come across to the rest of you, but honestly, there are a lot of Muse-fans that may like Twilight, but didn't get into Muse through that. I think that those insane fangirls that have been mentioned here really doesn't only give a bad rep to the Muse-fans, but also to the ones that liked Twilight before it was an "it"-thing to like and vampires were the new black. And it made me realise, that even though it's build upon the classic tales of mythical creatures which I love, it's still not really making any of them read Anne Rice of Bram Stoker.

So yeah, bit more ranting from the opposite side on my behalf. I'm not a crazed fangirl who automatically hates everyone that dislikes Twilight, so I'm not really worried, though. ;)

If you've made it this far, I salute you.

The indie kid inside me liked Twilight before it became popular. I went to the Twilight premiere as a Volturi dude whilst all my friends where like OMG Robert *dies* so I left them.

I haven't read Twilight since and am glad, I instead have got into proper vampire novels and anime. Anyways, to the point Twilight = lost it's cool.

Twilight rage = getting old

This. So this.

I read Twilight 3 years ago and I loved it but started to dislike it when Breaking Dawn came out, then the movie came out which was overkill.

I found out about Muse 2 years ago with New Born  and I have parted with Twilight but will never part with Muse. They are my Edward Cullens :LOL:

Love it how non-muse fans don't understand why you hate Twatlight.

You can't explain it, I tried to explain it my Mum

Oh god yes.

I mean, I can understand how someone could like Twilight, it does really sweep you up. But why is it that Twilight fans just can't seem to grasp that it's possible to dislike it

And I could probably have a red hot go at explaining why I hate it

3. Being Clumsy Is Not A Character Flaw.

Bella is perfect, but no wait...Stephenie Meyer didn't want her to be no Marysue! So she gave her a blaring character flaw...or at least what she intended to be a character flaw which clearly...is not. That is, being horribly clumsy. But this is NOT a flaw seeing as whenever Bella actually takes a nose dive or does something obnoxiously klutzy it's seen as an endearing act, more so a positive trait than a blaring fault.

To make matters worse, her clumsy antics actually act as a device to give Edward even more opportunities to swoop in and act as Bella's knight in shining—I mean *ahem*—sparkling armor. I MEAN REALLY?!?!? COME ON!

YES. THANK YOU. caps

I concur...

I liked the books when they were only popular amongst middle aged women hoping to get a glimpse of hardcore vampire/werewolf porn... The second it went mainstream though, I had to back off. It just went too far. And UGH Rob Pattinson, don't even get me started.

I went to school the other day to see every girl of my entire grade obsessing over a picture of him. Which wasn't at all good looking. I waited for everyone to shut up, and commented. "Guys, he's kind of... fugly. Honsetly." To which I then had to fend off 60+ obsessive fan-girls, wishing to condemn me to the blackest pits of their twi-hell for insulting their almighty god that is R-pats.

That kind of ruined it for me.

I reckon the best way to make those twihard muse 'fan' posers (not the normal twilight-and-muse fans, just the posers) go away is just to make them listen to Muse songs that are the complete opposite of SMBH or Uprising and scare em off. or just give them the heaviest thrash metal song and claim its muse, its not like they'll realise anyway since the only songs they know are SMBH and all that

I'm so sick of people thinking that I love Muse because of Twilight.

Because, typically, Twilight fan girls are a bunch of 12, 13, and 14 year old girls who want Edward Cullen in the pants, yes?

Just because I'm 14, and I happen to love Muse, most certainly does not mean I love Twilight!

ARGH!

+1 to exactly all this!:D:yesey:

I'm in your same situation.

I actually think the books are quite good (not something to fucking spaff over and ask this fucktard to bite you when he's clearly playing a fictional character, why don't you get a life, get a real boyfriend, and get him to bite your neck instead of trying to get Pattinson to bite you - because you're just encouraging paedophilia, and as if he's gonna bite you anyway ffs!). Yeah, so as I was saying, the books are actually okay. Twilight is just full of very awkward scenes and it's really not that good - the only fucking :awesome: thing about it is Supermassive Black Hole - that's what kept me in the cinema when I saw it, anyway! The bad thing about SBH being on is of coure the Twihards posing as Musers (I appreciate the ones that have given Muse a decent go/listen, and if they don't like anymore songs, it's fair enough to only like Supermassive. But the ones that say they're Musers when they have only listened to SBH and straight away relate it back to Twatlight are the annoying ones!:fear:

I don't have a problem with Meyer because she didn't say "hey, all you fans of mine, I'ma put 1 Muse song in this film and I only want you to listen to that song and not give the band a fair go. I also want you to call yourself a Muse fan, then call Supermassive Black Hole 'Superbig Dark Wholes'! Okay? Thanks!"

She's also an evidently :awesome: Muser for dedicating some of her very popular books to Muse and thanking them for inspiring her to write.:yesey: So yeah, she's cool, the Twihards posing as Muse fans are not!:phu:

Hahaha, one of my friends who likes Twatlight (likes, not obsesses over or loves) also really likes Supermassive. So I'm like, "okay, fair enough, it's a fucking brilliant song - you're :awesome: for appreciating its awesomeness! But here, give them a pwoper listen, see if you like any other songs!:D" So I wrote down ones I thought she'd like, mainly popular ones, pree sure I wrote Starlight, New Born, Bliss, Plug In Baby, Hysteria, Time Is Running Out, Invincible, Resistance, Uprising, Sunburn, Muscle Museum, and heaps of others.

She liked most of them - she really likes some of those songs, others she's not a large fan of...

Haha, we were in ICTE, and I'm like, "oi! You should listen to this song - it's reallyyyyyy good, you'll love it!" *puts Micro Cuts on* and seeing as I've taught her well/always talk about Muse, she's like ":LOL::chuckle: Are you sure this is Muse!? That doesn't even sound like Matt...:erm:" haha, she wasn't too keen on MC haha I knew she wouldn't be, but it was just for the lulz. Least she's given them a decent listen to though.

edit: And Starlight is not shit, thankyouverymuch!:phu:

haha imo anyway:p

oh no, i think Starlights quite good too, not their best but still good. i just hate how the twatlighters treat 'those' songs as if they are Muse's best songs when they havent even listened to at least 20% of their work it yet

It was quite frightening. I wouldn't have minded, but they sarted ranting on Matt... Which was actually funny because, well, it was all true

"He's crazy!" .... Let's see... Baked beans: check. Ax: check!

"He's short!" .... Erm, yes, he is  how nice of you to notice...

"He sings like a woman!" .... Yeah, it sounds like his balls were ripped off. That's why we like him *facepalm*

"He had RED HAIR!" .... which was EPIC :erm: Where exactly are you going with this?

As I type this, I can almost hear the screams of rage and pain as a million Twi-tards' flesh spontaneously combusts from the hate and twuth being expressed in this single post as well as the entire thread...
