ryanbmuff Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Fuck it, he obviously has a good enough voice, so why not let him sing for one song? Still with Matt on the keyboard/guitar etc, but have a chris driven song. MAKE IT HAPPEN
Johanna Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 I support this idea! Please let Chris sing at least one whole song, please. That would be a new experiment for Muse. Let Chris sing. He has an amazing voice, he could pull it off.
Clunge Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 I've said it hundreds of times, but another won't hurt: Chris needs to start his own band, kinda like Motorhead where he sings/screams, grows his Pedro 'tache back and just goes mental. He's got it in him .
Johanna Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 He's definitely got it. Proof: The Small Print, Rock Am Ring 2004.
That Little Animal Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Yeah, he needs to do some lead vocals. Maybe even just part of a song.
NCWP Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Great idea! That would be so great, cause he obviously can sing! I'm thinking perhaps something acoustic, and slow. I'm thinking of something like Blackout, Soldier's Poem, perhaps Unintended and Falling Down.

Alot like Osaka Jam, cause that song is awesome. I also think it wont be long, before Matt does a solo piano project, or something along those lines.
Muse Engine Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 There should be a new song, akin to live performances of TSP, in which Matt and Chris sing alternate lines. And it would be awesome.

Yup, Osaka Jam style stuff with him singing, a bit like Death From Above 1979.

Valentin_Selezynov Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Am i going to be accused of trolling if i say that i don't think Chris should sing? Because i don't think Chris should sing. Rivers let one of the other guys sing on the latest Weezer album, and it ruined it. Even though King is one of the better songs on the record.
trvrphlps Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 you have a point. not that ive ever heard a weezer record. and all im saying, most threads you in, an arguement starts. but im gonna leave it there.
Valentin_Selezynov Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Muse are not Blink 182. They're not the Alkaline Trio. They don't have two members with enough charisma to pull off the dual vocalist thing. Matt is the only halfway entertaining one of the trio.
trvrphlps Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 valid yes. but, it wouldnt be a dual vocalist on a song. it would only be chris singing. but i am actually against the idea of chris singing a muse record. im much more for the idea of him singing in his own band.

Dave Grohl's Marigold was released as a Nirvana b-side. Nothing amazing, but I've never heard anyone suggest it ruined the image or artistic integrity of the band..
Zerikou Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I dunno. Chris is a good harmonizer, but that's about all in my opinion. Maybe he could do a slower song. Of course, judging by the way he likes to headbang all the time, I would assume he has some latent metal powers waiting to spring out.

Weezer < Muse I'm sure most people here would agree. Chris could pull it off. Brian < Chris Again, I'm sure most people here would agree.
Dillyracer Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Not an whole song, but I would love an album recording like the how they sang TSP live in 2004.
trvrphlps Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 i thought chris's voice was quite weak in that performance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLve_nxRux4
Tr00jg Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Sign me on! I would love to hear more of Chris' singing.
MPaans Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I hadn't heard Chris do anything else than harmonics, but I do think it would be cool for him and Matt to do a song with alternating lines or something.. i'm sure they can compose something really cool with that. Although, I have to say, Chris' performance with The Small Print @ Rock AM Ring wasn't great, but I think that's because he hasn't had nearly as much practice as Matt (I think), and it's probably a bit too high a note for him to reach. But yeah, could be cool.. as long as they don't split up or anything

It'd be great to hear Chris sing properly, it's really hard to make an accurate judgment on his voice based on a few linesof backing vocals. I'm sure he's pretty good.
