As I understand it you can only ask for an undertitle change on the first of the month. I doubt everyone can do that on the first so I was basically trying to get it done by very bad subterfuge.

Nice idea, but you don't have to ask for it to be changed on the first. A box comes up in your user cp for you to type it in..
