Blockades

I think it's "You've been summoned now."

^ yeah, it’s this

Sounds like 'be the best' to me

I hear ‘be’ on the first chorus then ‘beats’ on maybe the next 2.

Hate being at this early stage where we still don’t know ‘til we get the physical booklets :chuckle:

My best guess at the lyrics

The truth is that when I am killing in order to survive

I've never felt so alive

I'm always seeking to live and die on the edge

Live is a broken simulation I'm unable to feel

I'm searching for something that's real

I'm always seeking to see what's behind the veil

Trapped in a maze of unseen walls

These blockades must fall

Crush, Crush, Why the rush?

Seize, fight for your life

Smash, Test, Be the best

Fight for your life

You've been summoned now

I never sleep or rest but I'm still running out of time

I have sacrificed all of my life

The time has come to, to prove to you what I'm worth

Trapped in a maze of endless walls

These blockades must fall

Crush, Crush, Why the rush?

Seize, Fight for your life

Smash, Test, Beat the best

Fight for your life

You've been summoned now

Crush, Crush, Why the rush?

Seize, Fight for your life

Smash, Test, Beat the best

Fight for your life

You've been summoned now

He definitely sounds as if he sings 'be the best' in the first chorus but changes to 'beat' for the second and third imo. Just a little unsure on that "why the rush" line at the moment.

This track makes me wish the guys could make a power/symphonic metal album one day. It reminds me a little of Rhapsody or Symphony X and the sort, but maybe I'm just losing my mind.

EDIT: At this point, after reading the correct lyrics, I think it's clear this song is about a videogame character going through the motion by obeying to the encoded commands and hating it, and his desire of exiting the program.

And it's awesome as barbeque sauce.

Not before they write a prog metal album.

Also, as I said in the main ST thread, Blockades sounds like Muse covering Octavarium / Systematic Chaos era Dream Theater, which in turn was when Dream Theater openly spoke of being heavily influenced by Muse. There's massive circularity here.

And this one too:

The first part of the solo really reminds me of Smooth Sailing by QOTSA. It sounds messy and discordant but structured. Almost as if it's purposefully ramshackle.

The outro is so disappointing. It doesn't kick on into anything. It needs to tear into a riff.

They’ll use a bunch of songs. Doesn’t matter if they tie into sports. This has been going for years and started with Uprising and Resistance. Someone at those broadcasting stations likes Muse.

Uprising is perfect for it. And Knights. I just think it's an awkward song choice. Same with this IndyCar tie in too. :$
