DramaQueen. 10 Posted May 18, 2017 Because you say so? I honestly think lots of people are saying that because of the initial disappointment. And I am no expert on music to judge quality, but yes, I think they have worse songs
MartianSpaghettiRider 10 Posted May 18, 2017 Please tell me Matt's not singing about God now. You didn't listen to it, yet?

MartianSpaghettiRider 10 Posted May 18, 2017 I'm guessing some Americans still haven't gotten home from work. Ah, yes, I haven't thought about it. Here in Italy it's already 10:24 P.M.
bjmort 10 Posted May 18, 2017 Sounds like Freedom by George Michael....like exactly
SerpentSatellite 10 Posted May 18, 2017 You didn't listen to it, yet? I had an appointment and now I'm working a mid-shift. It's been a bummer of a day, so I wasn't really in the mood on break. I'm especially not in the mood for "Muse does xtian music" today. Reading people's reactions, however, has been interesting and amusing. I also still haven't listened to New Kind of Kick, though. Maybe I should start there.
Hyper 10 Posted May 18, 2017 Please tell me Matt's not singing about God now. he is the god of the shrinking universe of fans
SerpentSatellite 10 Posted May 18, 2017 he is the god of the shrinking universe of fans I should have clarified "singing about God in a non-blasphemous way."
BigGeorge 10 Posted May 18, 2017 I should have clarified "singing about God in a non-blasphemous way." I'm 99% sure Matt realized he created a bit of a gospel song so he decided to add "god" to the lyrics.
SerpentSatellite 10 Posted May 18, 2017 I'm 99% sure Matt realized he created a bit of a gospel song so he decided to add "god" to the lyrics. There was always that IG post with the Bible quote. Serpent is just NOT in the mood right now.
Jobby 74 Posted May 18, 2017 I should have clarified "singing about God in a non-blasphemous way." I'd say it's about the same way that he's always sang about God. The line is "When God decides to look the other way".
SerpentSatellite 10 Posted May 18, 2017 I'd say it's about the same way that he's always sang about God. The line is "When God decides to look the other way". That's actually a bit confusing considering the song's about Trump, right?
BigGeorge 10 Posted May 18, 2017 The next line is literally "And a clown takes the throne" so yes.
That Little Animal 57 Posted May 18, 2017 Please tell me Matt's not singing about God now. No. He clearly sings about Gond.

Maybe I should start there. Er... I have a feeling you might like NKOK more. You know the times you were criticising Revolt for inciting to rise up in a silly way considering the band's background? Well, there's also a phrase in Dig Down that goes like this: "With a gun to your head / You must find a way".
Teitan 10 Posted May 18, 2017 The next line is literally "And a clown takes the throne" so yes. I wonder where he's sung about this before...... I'll show you a God Falls asleep on the job And how can we win, When fools can be kings
Sophie. 13 Posted May 18, 2017 Sounds like Freedom by George Michael....like exactly Truth. I genuinely like it though. It's catchy (probably because of aforementioned George Michael comparisons). It's uplifting (lol). And it sounds fucking LOVELY through a good pair of headphones. It really is stock-standard 2017 mainstream-appeal Muse. Goes straight in the vein of Madness and Undisclosed Desires. A little beige, but a decent enough song, and very standard for their current sound and the kind of singles they're putting out these days. In my opinion, definitely not the worst thing they've ever done. Not by a long shot. Wouldn't mind hearing it live, myself. I'll take it
aleluman 10 Posted May 18, 2017 The climax is way too bland and boring compared to madness which, while similar, is clearly the better song.
bjmort 10 Posted May 18, 2017 Seriously am I the only person hearing freedom by George Michael?

Unidentifiable 10 Posted May 18, 2017 I wonder where he's sung about this before...... I'll show you that God Falls asleep on the job And how can we win, When fools can be kings? Yes! It's literally the exact same sentiment, just expressed in a different (worse) way
Sixer 10 Posted May 18, 2017 It's just ok. Seems like they were trying to make an uprising 2.0 that can be played in movies, TV, and sports promotions. Trying to repeat a past success.
