Any recommendations for things to do in Denver or nearby? I've been to Denver a couple of times and have been to red rocks but not for a show... just to sightsee. Sweet tooth and cool atmosphere?... Voodoo Donut!!!! They're amazing. If you like museums and taking pics, the best view of the city (with mtns in background) is from the observation deck/terrace on the 4th floor of the atrium in the Nature & Science Museum. There's a nice little riverside park area downtown near REI, if you use the REI parking - just pull a ticket and be sure to be back before your allotted time is up (I think 2 hrs)
serpentsatellite
I am trying to buy tickets and it just says not available. I started shortly after they went on sale. It is completely sold out, including all the VIP packages. Not uncommon for gigs at Red Rocks, at all, considering how many people go just for the cool ass venue. forevermusic
Until it was pointed out, I didn't know that Muse played Red Rocks on September 18th 2007. Which is pretty cool symmetry. Decent set too: http://www.musewiki.org/Denver_Red_Rocks_Amphitheatre_2007_%28gig%

serpentsatellite
If for no other reason that they didn't really have enough albums out for everything to be Muse's Greatest Hits on Tour. And they weren't "mainstream" enough to be too chicken shit to play different things.

hyena17
I really want to start a campaign to get them to play a couple rarities at this gig. Showbiz, Glorious, Easily would be the 3 I'd go for -- of course one of the three would be a huge victory. Imagine the atmosphere/beauty of Red Rocks and the band playing Glorious. I think I would die.

I think I would die. I'd be all for this. I have my own favorites but would honestly be stoked if they played any of the rarities from SBE--even the ones I'm not high on. But how many forum members are actually going to this gig?

Jobby
At a venue like that, I feel like you should be campaigning for Hoodoo and COD! .....but pls don't 'cos I can't go and I'd probably just cease to exist soooooo.
Corkscrewed
LOL, but we know that has negative chance. Just throw back to their last gig there, ten years ago, and give us a U.S. Montreaux or something. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/muse/2007/red-rocks-amphitheatre-morrison-co-4bd65fce.html Like.. songs 8-11, which they haven't practiced at all this year and thus can't be reasonably expected to play, could be replaced by crap, but if the rest was the songs 10 years ago (including songs they played at SBE, so they're in practice), I'd be ok with that. hyena17
Ok so I'm trying to organize something to help the chances of some rarities at this gig. Basically I want to make a short video scrolling through photos of fans holding up signs asking for songs, and eventually tweet it to the band. We're focusing on a pool of 3-4 songs that were played at the SBE gig to increase the chances. The details are in a post on FB in what I think is a private event group linked to one of the Muse NA tour groups. I hardly use FB so idk how to invite people. If anyone is interested in participating or wants more info, message me!!
