fam201
I'd still err on the side of caution, since you're still accessing content which is not available in Germany due to copyright reasons, and doing anything like that in Germany is a very very bad idea. Is it really? Never heard of it being that super serious. Anyway, I'd still be careful about that website due to viruses/adware...
zomuse
Okay, I don't know if this counts since Matt himself didn't technically write the line, but "Life is short and filled with stuff" is one of the most amazing bad Muse lyrics of recent years. I didn't know it was a cover when I started watching it and I loved that line I wanted so badly to believe he would write such an intentionally bad line. Destroya
To be honest this person gave me the same mark for to completely different pieces of work, one of which is vastly superior. Maybe best to leave it alone.
wildwilly
I watched this again and really to think this song is half joke. Matt is clearly wearing a hair piece, no guitar? and the song is kinda cheesy if you ask me.

I thought we'd all established that the song was 100% joke, just a bit of fun

SoulDrift
Gotta admit, I love Matt's vocals here. He includes almost every one of the hooks that he works into other songs. His precision is perfect! Seems like he put more into the vocal than just a quick gag song.
serpentsatellite
I want to think it's a gag and not a serious attempt at that style of music... but I did just see a newish TLSP video that has confused the issue for me...

Was this for the Leonard Cohen cover? I think the difference is that Bellamy looks like he's doing it for laughs, while Alex Turner seems to be morphing into that sort of character for real. Honestly, I think they did a really good cover. Obviously if people don't like The Cramps, they won't like this song. I love The Cramps, so I wouldn't mind a more serious attempt. I mean, it's obviously for laughs, but it's also a fine cover .

As an audio only I love the vocals, the punky aggression, the bass. Only thing is this style really only suits young-poor-angry singers. Hard to take seriously at their age-comfort level. Think it only works as the joke it is, albeit pulled off by excellent musicians.
Tesseract
I like it, it's fun. I wonder if this got Muse and Rich Costey talking about working together for LP8. I know people have issues with him but I'd like to see it. Edit: I mean as the producer. Edited October 29, 2016 by Tesseract

I agree. Matt Bellamy's lyrics are mostly enjoyable, regardless of whether they're good or bad. The only ones I don't find enjoyable are those few that are just cringeworthy. denise3112
And this one, although not Matt's, IS cringeworthy imo "Life is short..." dull cliche +++++ And full of stuff" works only as a parody.

"Why can't you sleep with someone who'll protect you?" Now that's cringeworthy.

Bumpypotato
I mean, I guess it's cringy from a "that's so angsty" perspective but for his standards it's not that bad.

Clunge
"I'll show you a God who falls asleep on the job." Muse have some of the worst lyrics of all time, frankly. The musings of a 13-year-old twat.
Bumpypotato
It's a horrible line. If you can't see that I'm a bit worried. I'm not denying that, just that in the grand scheme of Matt's lyrics it's far from the bottom of the barrel.
