serpentsatellite
It was tied for my favorite of the tour with Globalist, if that counts.
maturefan
It was tied for my favorite of the tour with Globalist, if that counts. It'snot in the same league as Globalist.
altbecky
It'snot in the same league as Globalist. You're right. It's better
odier
That's not the best Mercy. The Globalist is better in Glasto
Tintin
I think Mercy has gone right up to my top 10 Muse songs tbh.
matthijs
I think the whole Glastonbury gig was pretty epic when it came to performance and setlist! Shame the microphone cuts out at certain points (not meaning the singalongs)
Arcade
As someone who was at the front this gig was insane.. got covered in drone confetti and yes, it tasted salty. Matt whistling the globalist was pretty special, I really hope that this song appears on the glastonbury album. Massive dream of seeing Muse headline Glasto achieved loved the staging as it harks back to the BH&R era.
matthijs
I'm quite sure the whistles are mimed though
Arcade
I'm quite sure the whistles are mimed though I can tell you the recent performances at the O2, Birmingham and Manchester were not mimed, I was close enough to see and I think at Glasto they were not mimed.. but if there was ever a gig that you might mime to it would big glastonbury, not much pressure and not that big a crowd
matthijs
I did a bit of listening, but I found that most of them sound so similar that I'm not sure he can whistle so consistently. It doesn't really matter though, the Globalist was epic live.
BlueEyedFloozy
I thought they were being mimed, but there were tiny little differences both at Cologne and Glasto, that made me believe they're not. If they're not, I'm impressed with his whistling ability, even though whistling makes my head hurt and I have to skip that bit of the actual song. Dom was definitely miming though, or else boy has some serious vocal skills kept hidden under wraps
serpentsatellite
I remember there being so much blowing noise in the mic at Philly that I found it hard to believe it was mimed, even though I really expected it to be, especially since no one could really see Matt clearly anyways. serpentsatellite
I dunno, man. You think the whistling is playback (it very well might be,) but they're using a program to make Dom sound exactly like Matt's album vocal track?
matthijs
It sounds like a very simple midi to vocal recording thing - but you know, could also be miming. I wish I were able to be backstage to see what's going on sometimes!
Jobby
He did it again at the Eiffel Tower gig and, as far as I can tell, he's miming. If he is actually singing, it isn't audible at all. The only thing coming through the speakers are Matt's studio vocals. I thought it was pretty awkward actually, 'cause it looked pretty blatant whenever Dom's face was on-screen No idea why they suddenly thought to make this a thing but, fuck it, it's Muse innit. Pretty sure the whistling isn't playback either. I had my suspicions during the arena gigs but it was a smidgen flat in Paris and you could hear wind on the mic. serpentsatellite
As I'm sure I've said many times the sound at Philly was pretty terrible where I was standing. Vocals were really bad. I heard way more blowing than whistling. Sounded like the mic was in a windtunnel.
