Jobby
He has his reasons I guess You know what does fall flat at big venues, Matt? UD. Also, judging by vids from this gig, the crowd was dead anyway so round of applause for that logic.
Alexander DeLarge
Because you know, this crowd really deserved CE over every other US gig that was played https://www.instagram.com/p/BA_fIlEnwlY/?taken-by=mehitsausername

serpentsatellite
Well, I guess I can thank Matt for just confirming I never need to bother seeing his band again. I guess all non-radio hits "fall flat" in the US.

Yeah this whole thing is quite interesting. At least it's not like last time and "Hey relax! This is just a rehearsal for something which isnt gonna happen!" frozenbanana
Matt's making some understandable points, if not ones that Muse have acted sensibly on in the past. Of course rarities aren't going to go down massively well in arenas compared with the hits, but that doesn't mean they should be limited to random small shows that few people can get tickets for, and which often aren't advertised as rarity-filled shows beforehand. And yes, fan votes won't produce rarities in the top spots... if they're put on Facebook, twitter or the website. So don't put them there. Keep them away from casuals as far as possible and see what happens. This might be an interesting night as far as Muse setlists go in the future. He's taking a lot of criticism and actually responding to it this time.
Jobby
We're giving him shit but this might be the first time he's ever actually gone directly to the fans about this issue. Yeah, gotta say, shitty as this is, it's nice to see some actual communication with the fans about it. Oh a setlist poll you say? What a great idea. Even he acknowledged that the majority of people would just vote for Knights and Uprising Surely the easy solution is just to not include those songs though. Just use a list of rarities/fan favourites that you've rehearsed or are willing to. The idea he mentioned of a rarities tour where fans could vote for songs excites me. Wasn't that pretty much what the Psycho Tour was though, only with Tweets instead of votes? Not that another one of those would be bad, especially if we could vote stuff like HCM, Easily or Glorious in. Ah fuck it, it'll never happen anyway. Alexander DeLarge
No, he responded after the Zepp. To be fair, that was coming off of T2L tour where it was actually comparable to what they got overseas. Everyone got fucked over compared to Japan.

ryanp16
If there is a rarities tour can't wait to get heart failure during the ticket sales... especially if its completely last minute like last time.

Frakkles
This is hilarious. The same people who were bitching and moaning that got given essentially the same reasons by fellow board members are now listening to them because it's Matt.

kueller
Just like everywhere else, including places where they did bring out rarities. The point was he wasn't wrong, but that was never the argument. It was why the non-hits fell flat. A lot of people explained that now, directly.
Spittle
I didn't obsess about the sets when I saw them during this tour. It made me enjoy the shows more, and be slightly surprised at what I saw.
