MartianSpaghettiRider
No Revolt? I don't hate Revolt, but I've come to the conclusion that I don't really feel it fits the overall epic tone of the album. It has a too "happy" tone, and I would have preferred they could release it as a stand-alone song, or a b-side.
Henz
Wanted to pad out the good stuff from Drones into an album length playlist. Liking this atm: The Groove Dead Inside Drill Sergeant Psycho Fury Reapers Crying Shame Mercy Eternally Missed The Handler Glorious The Globalist Still carries the theme of lonliness and indoctrination, though it's admittedly less coherent. The added references to god works unexpectedly well.

TheLionSlicer
This is one for TR & T2L I like a lot. It might not be the "best" songs from the albums but it's fairly cohesive sounding. Isolated System Uprising Resistance Explorers Animals Unnatural Selection MK Ultra Follow Me Overture Cross-Pollination Redemption It makes me sad to leave out songs like Survival or Undisclosed Desires but I was going for flow more than anything else. Perhaps you could replace Follow Me with Survival but I'm not sure. I should try it

lurkinglurkerlurksagain
For Drones: Easily Eternally Missed Dead Inside Psycho The Groove Reapers The Handler Mercy [JFK] + Defector Revolt Crying Shame (The revolt collapses) The Globalist + Drones This is with me trying to keep the concept and trying to flesh it out a little. Spending a little more time on the relationship, and the dark parts.

Spending a little more time on the relationship, and the dark parts. Like the idea, here's my (way too extended) version: Soaked Easily Supermassive Dead Star Map of the Problematique Dead Inside Psycho The Small Print Reapers MK Ultra Mercy The Handler Overture Supremacy Defector Uprising Revolt Glorious Redemption Hoodoo The Globalist Drones Take A Bow I really like that last 5/6 song run (Glorious/Redemption - TAB). Flows well and tells a pretty sad story imo.

I don't think it's available anywhere except YouTube, which sucks.
Henz
...But in terms of sound it isn't incoherent at all. I like it! Yeah! Considering the age difference, it sounds pretty organic. I'm playing the shit out of this playlist atm
GodNeverPaid
I've been thinking about Drones and about some subtle changes to the B-sides and original songs of the album to make it a bit different. Not a re-ordering, more like a re-design, though I think it could work, even without my changes. Drones: Part 1: Empathy loss 1. Dead Inside. 2. Drill Sergeant (Also, part of the marching from Intro of Abso will be playing.) 3. Psycho 4. Forced In - the beginning of the protagonist's indoctrination. (Ends with the marching from Intro and the MK Ultra keyboard-riff slowly fading out.) Part II: Indoctrination 5. Reapers 6. Futurism - "A future turns us into silent gods, and I won't miss you at all, grounded, boxed in, like the evil in your veins". 7. The Handler 8. Dead Star - The protagonist is in doubt but is helped by others to safety. Part III: Liberation 9. The Groove - realizing his mistakes, the protagonist begins to revolt. 10. JFK 11. Defector 12. Glorious - victory over the tyranny and the glory of love is celebrated but it also foreshadows the protagonist's fall to corruption. Part IV: Dystopia 13. Yes Please - the protagonist is haunted by the ideas of a new dictatorship. 14. The Globalist (Minus the last part. Instead goes into a distorted, looped message saying: "It's all over now.") 15. Hyper Chondriac Music - the protagonist is left sobbing at the eve of destruction, as he realizes that he became what he hated and that he was being used all along. 16. The Gallery - the empty aftermath (With journalists reporting mass destruction, heavy casualties and the end of the world.) PS: In HCM, a good change of lyrics would be "space race" --> "space waste".
lurkinglurkerlurksagain
After listening more, I would flip "Reapers" and "The Groove." It make more sense to me that way
MartianSpaghettiRider
I've made a little The Resistance re-ordering/re-tracking, more particularly excluding Guiding Light and replacing it with Glorious. I personally think it bring the level much higher. 1. Resistance 2. Uprising 3. Undisclosed Desires 4. United States Of Eurasia ( C.D., with the jetfighter rumble fading out instead of merging with the next track) 5. MK Ultra 6. Unnatural Selection 7. I Belong To You 8. Glorious 9. The Exogenesis Symphony
Hat
Shouldn't Glorious be with the synth-heavy songs at the start? Feels like this would work better: Glorious Resistance Uprising Undisclosed Desires USoE Unnatural Selection (slow piano ending of CD leading into the organ of US?) MK Ultra IBTY Exogenesis
MartianSpaghettiRider
Shouldn't Glorious be with the synth-heavy songs at the start? Feels like this would work better: Unnatural Selection (slow piano ending of CD leading into the organ of US?) Because Glorious in my opinion is brilliant and majestic to set the cosmical mood in anticipation for the Exogenesis Symphony. IBTY, (although I love it) isn't very suitable to do that if you exclude the Saint-Saëns' Samson and Delilah insert. Your idea for the placement of US and its transition from USOE works better to be honest. Mine tries to create a sort of cohesiveness in terms of storyline, akin to Drones, due the nature of its inspiration (Orwell's 1984), not really in terms of sound. macgivera
I would add "In the Army Now" by Status Quo before Dead Inside on Drones.

Now The Resistance: We Are The Universe Uprising MK Ultra Helsinki Jam Undisclosed Desires United States of Eurasia I Belong To You Unnatural Selection MK Jam Resistance Exogenesis I've always liked the idea of having Resistance right before Exogenesis because of its atmospheric outro. That album would be amazing too.
