This is some fucking bullshit. I didn't buy tickets to see some overdone, bloated stage show. If I wanted that, I'll go see Beyonce. I just want to see the damn band play some songs. Muse, it's beyond time to scale things back. Please! :noey:

Fuck!!! I'm fucked over the hotel and flight money because it's too late to cancel! Wait so they're saying the shows that are back to back nights in two cities are gonna be fucked too? Like I've been saying they should've waited until summer '16 for the North American leg

Since this show has been postponed to January 9, you should be able to get a complete refund through TicketsToday.

That's what I am going to do and then maybe later buy paper tickets to one

of their later shows. I will never buy will-call hold at Venue ever again, not worth the

bullshit!

Well now... Flights paid, Hotels paid, car rental paid.. Disappointed? You bet! We fly down from Vancouver on Sunday and stay till the 10th. Mini holiday and a concert... Just wish the event was just postponed by a day or two would of helped a lot of people out.

I'll have to see if it is worth it or not to hold onto the tickets now. Damn!

That pretty much doesn't explain why they rescheduled it... Like, the opposite.

And the clusterfuck that almost wasn't the Dallas show is enough proof of their reasons.

Although I am a tad surprised they rescheduled.

the worst part is (well besides wasted flight, hotel, etc... for this weekend) is they rescheduled for a Saturday night show on Jan 9th which means hotels, flights, etc... prices will be ^^^^^^^^^^^^ sky rocketed! At least i'm hoping for a decent Coachella line-up! Muse, I love you and will be at both LA shows but ughhh sooo dissapoopinted <<< bad spelling because im drinking lots of tequila tonight and im very disappointed!

RIP Scott Weiland!

Sorry that the band postponed the Vegas show for those who had tickets, but I don't think a band like Muse would make up a reason do to poor ticket sales. Otherwise, the Phoenix show would be 'postponed'.

That is what I think as well... The problem with the stage is with the tour logistics manager.

Personally I would like to think the band saw the troubles on-stage at previous concerts knowing they were most likely caused from fast setups and take-downs without fully testing the instruments, equipment and stage. When the band couldn't give the best almost flawless experience that the fans want because of the fast setups and tear-down. Maybe they called it off and hopefully people in the logistics part got an earfull/canned in the end.

The above link shows who the production design company and tour director are for the Drones tour.

Production designer Oli Metcalfe

Tour director Glen Rowe

From the press release for the postponements, those are who people show have issue with. It's a bad look for the designer and director if you promise something to the band and cannot deliver. Muse shares some of the blame, they hired them, but not much.

Of course, they have been with the band forever, and hopefully the shit doesn't rain down onto the people under them with less control. Although, there would be a healthy irony blaming the drones for all this.

And there's a few things out there were Glen actually seems a bit overwhelmed by Matt's vision for the tour.

We really have no idea if anyone stood up and told him "this ain't gonna work" or not.

getting a tad off-topic here, but, as we (well, a good few of us) know, both oli and glen are indispensable...and have been key cogs in charting the course for muse's success to date as a live act.

their heads won't roll...but, clearly, somebody's will...

Wait, so looking at the topic - was the cancellation announced on 4th? I didn't think of checking news and ticketmaster decided to let me know about it only today. I was on the move to Phoenix show but still could have changed my trip to make it to work on Monday

I just booked for the weekend of the rescheduled show. Actually, Friday night was more expensive at Mandalay Bay than Saturday night. Still pricey but maybe if you book now, you'll avoid the jacked up prices.

By the show, we may know who's playing Coachella! Another one hoping for a decent line-up too.

I didn't know those two have been with the band for so long... Having seen the Phoenix show last night, I can see now how tearing down the stage, transporting it, rebuilding it, programming the drones and perfecting the sound levels in less than 24 hours is highly ambitious. Luckily, the Phoenix show went off perfectly....too bad they had to postpone tonight's Vegas show.

no, do not buy the fact it was logisstic problems.........it was due to poor ticket sales, simple as that.

Mandalay only managed to sold 2500 tickets out of 18000 availalbe, that would have been a total flop, and the Casino could not take that much of a loss.

If this really had to do with poor ticket sales, then wouldn't they just have cancelled it outright instead of rescheduling? Several other US dates are selling really poorly, and they haven't rescheduled those.

It's honestly pretty obvious - they've just figured out that playing back-to-back shows in different cities with substantial travel in between doesn't work. The Dallas show was severely delayed for exactly that reason, and I don't see the need to speculate that they're motivated by anything other than that concern. Why they didn't figure that out when scheduling in the first place is a mystery, but so is a lot of how they scheduled and announced this tour. Now the real question becomes whether they'll end up rescheduling the other back-to-back shows (Chicago/Detroit and Philly/DC), or if they figure they'll have streamlined the process more by then or something...I'm sure fans in those places would appreciate more than a few days notice, but with the way this tour scheduling has gone....

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to reschedule most of the remaining back-to-backs if there is a problem. Maybe DC if the venue is available the next day (too lazy to check), but they probably need to be getting things ready to go to Europe by early Feb and won't have time to backtrack to Michigan. They're not anywhere close to Portland after this week unless they somehow squeezed it in before the new San Diego show in early Jan. They're probably just going to have to do their best with those shows.

Postponement of Vegas has absolutely not a thing in the world to do with ticket sales. It is perplexing why they couldn't just delay it a day since the venue seemed to be available. That still would've been a major change in plans on short notice. Postponing the Arizona show also probably would've made more sense, baring in mind that Vegas was announced first so it wasn't really the problem. Not to mention Vegas is more of a tourist destination city. That's really where most of the outrage is coming from.

I've been pretty worried about Philly and DC, myself. One of the two gets cancelled last minute, and there won't be time to reschedule, and they're the last gigs of the tour.

Would be *smart* if they announced now, so maybe they could sell out tickets to remaining gigs with the displaced people... But probably not profitable, sadly.

I think with the closeness of Philly and Washington there shouldn't be a problem. If I understand correctly, part of the problem with Dallas/Houston was getting in the building to set up while they waited for One Direction to get out. Plus setting up will be more routine as time goes by. They should have really avoided back-to-back at the beginning of what is an ambitious stage set up. Everybody knew it was going to be a process when they didn't have the weather balloons in Mexico. Hopefully everything gets better and better with every show.
