diamond_writer
Invincible didn't come to mind, although it is a positive song, I guess I don't find it that romantic, maybe? I like it much better than Aftermath, but find Aftermath way more romantic. I'm interested in hearing people's interpretations of why Shine is a romantic song. To me it represents an couple reflecting upon their life together, in a melancholic sort of way. Really beautiful.
Finn.
Shine, always, but then blackout and then aftermath. Blackout is about someone dying. Is positive because his/her life wasn't bad at all. but is not a romantic song.
serpentsatellite
As much as I love Abso, it was damn depressing.

Redwingsrock
Definitely Uno. Seriously though, I like the instrumentation in both Madness and Endlessly the best of all of Muse's "romantic" songs. Lyrically, one of either Falling Away With You, Time is Running Out, or Hysteria (Obsession is romantic, right?!). Honorable mention to Invincible. serpentsatellite
Oh for fuck sake. tbf, I think he described it more eloquently at one point (Musewiki claims " the description of the act of sex and love as something political, the only place offering freedom from Big Brother. The song is also about any love which crosses boundaries such as religion or strong political beliefs and the subsequent recognition of the unimportance and divisiveness of such beliefs.") Which I suppose is a little more romantic in certain situations. What stuck with me was the one about "the song itself ‘Resistance’ I put myself into a character for that one. I was imaging myself as that geezer Winston from the book 1984 and he falls in love with some girl and they’re having weird porn behind the scenes that no one can see. So I was trying to imagine that." Which, iirc, was actually an interview from the T2L era. Also, cannot consider anything called "hysteria" as romantic, knowing the basis of the word; which I'm pretty convinced is intentional in the song. Johi36
I thought it's official that *that* is what Hysteria is about? Maybe I only read a theory though, no idea if Matt actually confirmed it.

serpentsatellite
Yep. Female orgasms or something That's part of the "hysteria" explanation... It's way more grim than that, though. I've never seen Matt mention it. Just a friend of the band "confirmed" it. Fits with the lyrics, though. I've always tried to ignore it.
simplytom
Muse love songs tend to be my least favourites. Falling Away With You, Endlessly and Unintended are up there. Aftermath and Uno aren't far behind. Resistance, IBTY and NSC are all atrocious.
Finn.
Now Resistance is better, because without "Resistance" romance won't last

BigGeorge
Uno? It's super romantic. Late at night before bed I whisper to my wife "You're still nothing to me and this means nothing to me."
