Kinda gutted this little part didn't turn out to be more, was psyched to hear this bit

This is the most disappointing thing about the song, for me. It was my favourite riff and had my expectations so high, I thought it would be its own song. Instead it's used fleetingly and you can't even hear it that well – they might as well not have used it, tbh. It had such potential! I still think The Globalist is a v good song, but it could've been one of their best if that mid-section was longer/better and the piano outro wasn't so similar to Explorers (i.e. bland).

Whenever I go to listen to the album now I start at Reapers, haha! I've definitely over listened the first 3 tracks.

Fuck me, though. This is a great album. Hopefully we'll get more Reapers/Handler style/quality tracks on the next one!

EDIT: Is this the most marmite Muse album yet?

Exactly mate!! Anyone know that part of England better than a Scotsman? Would it be best to travel to Derby as a hub of transport, or Nottingham? I see Derby has buses that take 20-30 mins to Castle Donnington which seems just fine!?

Both have 24hr bus service. Derby is more convenient for travel but Nottingham is a nicer place to visit.

I lived in the area for 8 years

Edit: if you're travelling from Glasgow try to see if Megabus are selling rail tickets to Birmingham, then book the train from Birmingham to Derby. That way it can be £20 instead of £60+

Interesting.

I await evidence of hopefully more dynamics :) cheers

It almost goes without saying that the vinyl will have better dynamic range as that format physically can't take a CD mix with the wick permanently turned up to 11. Looking at the small print, the vinyl had its own mastering engineer (I guess that's a specialist job, nowadays!) so where different/more hands are involved in the process, slightly different decisions will be made.

Mixed by Rich Costey, too. Not, lately, a portent of brilliant dynamics. CD has a very 'thick' soundstage - concur with what others have said about everything being loud. Some of the guitar breaks (on Defector especially) sound a bit shrill, especially with the volume up, and some of the other heavier bits are a bit muddier than I'd like, but it's not too bad.

Crossing fingers that the proper HD downloads are from an earlier/less compressed stage in the workflow like the T2L ones, but the preorder HDs weren't. There's plenty of peaking/clipping on them, and the dynamic range is (allowing for differences caused by the compression format) pretty much the same as the MP3s. So, hoping more than expecting that the release downloads will be better.

I knew it. :) Now that I've been thinking in this brief time, I can articulate better: what I'm trying to say is they indeed have mixed some instrumental parts too much louder than others, making volumes unbalanced between a part of a song and the other.

Yeah definitely.

Yea, right now the plan is megabus to Manchester, then national express to Derby and then the skylink and that's coming to about £25 one way, which isn't too bad!

You think rail to Birmingham, I'll check it out!

Yeah megabus do cheap services on virgin trains so worth checking out, would be far more comfortable than a bus.

Sometimes you can get really cheap trains from Manchester to Nottingham as well (from eastmidlands trains).

Also, East Midland Airport is right next to the site so if the national express goes there it would be better than going to Derby

Cool! Thanks so much for your advice so far, not sure if I'm doing anything wrong though, as when I go to the megatrains website and it says it has stops in Glasgow, when I do a search, it just shows transport leaving from the bus station instead, I've tried multiple days, maybe they're all sold out for next week, I guess it's an early bird thing?

Thanks! It would of been a great plan! Hey! I'm mix things up a lot, I fly to London often but if it's a tight month, I've also taken a bus from ABERDEEN TO LONDON! 13 hrs. haha...

So think we can handle the 7 hr one, broken in two! It sucks but it's worth it for Muse...

The alternative is, found a flight to the East Midlands airport from Glasgow for £50...but can get there for half the price otherwise...Last minute decisions...GAH!

Are links and requests still infractionable seeing as Drones is officially out in Australia?
Links to download the album for free? That would be infractionable I would think, as it's also illegal. I assume that's what you mean.
