Was half expecting a "Shhhhhh, go to sleep" at the end of The Globalist. Explorers v2.

 

Its a bit clunky but I'm determined to make United States of Explorers a thing.

Idk, I'm not keeping track or anything. Like there was this one note in Aftermath that had literally zero vibrato and sounded really computerized. I really don't wanna start an argument about pitch correction though because I've seen them here before and nothing good comes out of them..

Love Defector. Two things:

 

1.) That base is so familiar. Like it's been used in a TV show or film. Sounds so, so familiar.

2.) I wish The Handler's base was that repetitive I wouldn't mind hearing that constantly throughout the song and I'd prefer it to the solo.

Revolt is nothing special, but it's a catchy upbeat song. The people who say it's offensively awful are crazy.

 

Maybe some people think differently to you. Maybe you think differently to these people. Is this really so hard to grasp?

The chord progression in the first singing part of The Globalist ist quite similar to Soaked.

Now starting The Globalist, Aftermath was a bit too much boy band and not enough Floyd to be honest.

ok, Globalist is pretty good. Going to give it 7/10. Revolt is 6/10, Defector is 5/10, Aftermath is easily 8/10. Not as bad a 2nd half as I thought and some of it might grow on me. Not bad. Still completely destroyed by the first half but not as bad as I'd feared. I haven't even heard Drones and I probably won't bother until I hear it on cd

The Defector solo is definitely the best bit of guitar on the album.

 

Ok, time for Revolt, round 2. Lets see if I think its just as horrible this time round.

Aftermath doesn't sound like "Muse" at all but is lovely

 

Way better than Explorers, which I just knew was going to be incredibly dull from when the drums kicked in.

The Globalist: they over-hyped the track, and I admit is underwhelming. Not a bad song, but I don't think it's something special. Maybe worst track on the record with Revolt and Mercy. 6/10

I'm liking Defector so far, despite the ridiculous Bohemian Rhapsody bits.

Okay, on first listen

 

Defector 6/10 - disappointed all in all, especially after hearing the 'Making of...' riff and hearing potential

 

Aftermath 8/10 - really enjoy it, yes even the ending minute or so

 

The Globalist 7.5/10 - heavy bit disappointed, drums are absent for too long during the riff

 

Revolt 4/10 - I hope its a grower

 

Drones 6/10 - For what it is, its okay. Just feel as though a track space on the album has been wasted

Dead Inside - 9/10

Psycho - 8/10

Mercy - 5/10

Reapers - 10/10

The Handler - 11/10 (best song I've heard in a while)

Defector - 8/10

Revolt - 5/10 (on second listen it's not thaaaat bad)

Aftermath - 9/10

The Globalist - 8/10 (cut 2 minutes or do something in last 2 minutes and it will be 10)

Drones - 8/10 (not joking, I really like it

 

So

8.1/10

 

I really like it, it's up with OoS, BHaR and Absolution.
